The council really treats non-slayers better it seems. I myself am not Catholic, though I have several cousins who are. Including faith in a story about evil vampires is something I appreciate, even if it would have not pulled in ratings in the 90's.

Interesting reaction to communion. Is the H and H symptom some form of "Aspect of the Demon" from getting Vamp ash on you or inhaling a bit of it, and the communion wafer purifies the taint?

A hand full of people die in Sunnydale every night assuming that the vampire population consists of the Master, Luke, Darla and a couple disposable minions. There are also the Suck Houses which have repeat customers and the occasional death. So the death statistics in the town should be absurdly high just from that. Most Midwestern towns have fewer than a handful of violent deaths a year much less a night.

The preemptive strike is a huge moral conundrum. Especially when dealing with teenagers. I am glad Faith talked him down here. Neutralizing Tucker can be achieved without killing him if they are creative. Honestly, eliminating Rack would be better at this stage if they could even find him. He is one of the corruptive influences in the town ensuring nascent magic users go dark.

Cleansing magic... I wonder why none of that was ever mentioned on the show... despite my lack of personal experience with Wicca, my cousin has told me on more than one occasion that cleansing of places, auras and even her crystals is something she does regularly.

I had forgotten that Vivian was the name of the social worker by the time Xander encounters her. Perhaps the introductory sentence could read "To Xander's enhanced senses the social worker, Vivian..." especially as this is immediately preceded by a brief time skip and location change.

I personally always felt that there was some kind of "Don't notice Xander is strong fast and heals well" field effect going on. Though to be fair all of the scoobies seem to recover unnaturally quickly.

Interesting to see the changes in Xander's life. Nice that the changes in his personality will be at least partially excused by his home situation.

Seriously one of the best BtVS fics I've read. Shame there isn't more or a sequel.
