That ending. Hoo boy, I know that everything must turn out well from the other fics you've written, but this WKC stuff is really starting to ramp up the stakes. Laura getting possessed as well made for a nice little bit of drama between her and Paula, and it led to some well written Class VII teamwork - always good to see!

I also enjoyed the crisis stash section at the beginning, even though it wasn't exactly pivotal to the rest of the chapter; a little bit of real world sensibility in an otherwise fantastic world is a neat touch, played for laughs as it was with the mention of Sharon.

As always, looking forward to what comes next!

Loved this one! The important events done with each of your pairings is a lot more enjoyable than Rean and his unlimited time. The Paula and Jusis date was adorable! The duel between Teo and Victor was awesome! Might be reading into it too much, but you used the way Elise fights on screen to write Teo's moves since it's the same school of swordsmanship, right?

So this is my first time on this site. I binge read all of your story over about 3 days. Also recently finished playing through Cold Steel 1&2. Since this was the first what if I found with my favorite pairing of Rean x Laura, I figured I'd give it a review.

Pros:
ReanxLaura is made to feel very natural. I liked the idea of writing over the years to each other. Even from her having to spell out the relationship to him, to the fight, to this chapter and the developments, great job grabbing the main relationships.

The mystery and rivalry of the knights of sin and divine is a nice touch. Honestly without this, the story would be a fairly straightforward retelling and that isn't what I was looking for. Curious to see how that develops as well. The character cameos and name drops were a nice touch as well.

The attention to detail to each chapter is fairly spot on. I enjoyed hearing about the experiences the other studentshad on their field studies. The increase in depth to the lore and world is much appreciated.

I like how the story breaks itself into parts based on who is the central character of focus and tells from what is happening around them. It gives each of them a fair amount of screen time. Keep that up, it really works.

Cons:
Small thing that happened early on, before all of the artifacts and things, Fie seemed uncharacteristically outgoing or social. Wasn't really expecting that. From what I could tell she was much more of a loner. I know for the her and Eliot thing to happen, she needed a change. Just was a bit of a shock at the beginning.

Machias and Emma. So I know that they are the only two in the class that don't have a relationship going (yet) but I feel that they won't or shouldn't. Just from the way it seems, they are just friends. I just don't feel the chemistry. I know they have a lot of similarities and making them good friends makes sense but pushing them together for everyone to have a pair seems a bit meh.

Last con I can think of is that the parents and adults seem all too accepting of all the relationships going on. I feel at least one of them would raise an objection, especially in Jusis's case. I thought his father would have done something about his son with a commoner. But that is just me being picky about things.

Thoughts:
Last few things I care to add are that I enjoy the addition of Paula. She was a good idea and rounds the cast out a bit more. Crow seems to not have that much of a relationship with Crow in this version than the actual game. Though we haven't gotten to the festival yet so we will see. Alisa and Gaius fit oddly well together and I now ship that. Especially with the lacrosse for a spear wielder. Makes too much sense. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your next chapter.

Sorry for the rambling. Writing this and trying to get my thoughts out on the entire series. The past 2-3 chapters have definitely been my favorite and I can't wait to see the return to Legram!

Victor, you sly dog. That aside, this was a nice little slice of life chapter, and when Rean and Laura come back to a a whirlwind of chaos, it's all too fitting that Millium (who else?) is at the epicentre. Was pleased as punch seeing Monica's mention at the end of the chapter - I love the non Class VII first years, and seeing them used in any capacity is fantastic. Of course, Machias and Emma Celine are always great, and the very last line was more than sufficient enough to turn the reader's attention to what's coming next... because it sounds like there's definitely something coming next.

I'm going to be honest with you, when I first read this story I wasn't too sure about it. While it starts out roughly the same as the game, there were so many different nuisances that I almost turned away.
But then I kept going and throughly enjoyed everything so far. I herald the game as one of my favorites; your story exceeded my expectations. There is so much life into this story that I can't stop reading it.
Everyone in this story just has a quirk and it makes them so likable, even Paula who was pretty much a nobody in the game and make them all work so well together that I'm stunned it does actually work still even twenty-nine chapters in. To be honest, I thought I was going to hate the over abundance of said quirks at first but you sure as hell proved me wrong.

I eagerly await the next chapter with much gusto.

I've throughly enjoyed you story thus far and look forward to how it unfolds! Fine work!
