I wish I had some at least semi-profound way of putting into words just about how much I enjoyed reading it, enjoyed every single sentence of this character study- but I'm all dry on good wit right now so I'm just gonna say that I love this, genuinely. Man, this was so beautiful. Haha, instant fave for me and that usually never happens!

The style is poetic and works quite well with the main theme. I love how seamless the transitions were from when Soul was first partners with Maka to when he was working with her after becoming the last Death Scythe. Their partnership was displayed so uniquely; I never thought about how a meister's grip on his/her weapon would be the defining quality to their relationship. I loved the little bits and pieces that showed Soul's personality, which was written in-character as I far as I can see, in the third person narrative (the "okay, maybe a little" when it came to him bragging is a notable example).

This is such a breath of fresh air to see. Thanks for writing this fanfiction. It was a fun little one-shot to read and it'll be one I will definitely look at again! :D

Ahhh I really loved this oneshot. It is very fantastically written with well thought-out details without being too wordy or anything, and you portrayed Soul and Maka's partnership about flawlessly, but I have just the smallest complaint about one thing. And that is that I wish you had put a warning for the manga spoilers, since I'm still currently around the first many volumes or so. Of course, being exposed to the manga spoilers is for the large part not really yours but actually my fault (I'm the one here reading SE fanfiction, some of which are bound to have possible spoilers in the first place), but maybe can I suggest you put some forewarning for other behind readers? In the Author's Notes or the summary, sorry if I'm a bother. Nonetheless, this was a wonderful oneshot. I especially loved the ending.
