Marvelmyra chapter 64 . 10/4/2017 But what happened to Tyrion ? |
Marvelmyra chapter 42 . 10/4/2017 Quentyn has murdered his sister ? |
Marvelmyra chapter 38 . 10/4/2017 Throughout the whole T V show I wondered why Ned even allowed Robert to drag him south at all. He had to see what a shit Joffery was and what a waste of space Robert was, so, why even bother ? After what happened at the end of the Rebellion I wondered why he never declared the North independent from the others and just gone home. |
Marvelmyra chapter 35 . 10/4/2017 So Ned lied to Lyanna. Why ? Is he after power after all ? |
Guest chapter 23 . 9/16/2017 If only Viserys knew that his mother took her own life before Stannis even came aboard, she's not the type to scream before she died, hell she went through a marriage with Aerys, at that point I don't think much would scare her... Oh no I sense a ominious ring to Viserys psyche... Here he seems to be strong. I don't know, I always looked at his character as weak that needed development, or had potential to be strong which is why i liked him because i love character arcs of weak turning strong, but this is fine too... I mean since he has his kingsgaurd and more people with him including Lyanna to act as a mothering figure, even if he can't find himself to like her... he's different, more stronger. And yes, I've always looked at Viserys as a fighter which is why there was potential, he was weak because of his experiences and because he let it affect him hence why he became cruel, but I don't think he was weak by nature, I think he was a fighter, especially if he went long taking care of his sister without any help as far as he did. That is a huge accomplishment for him. I also like the hint of madness in his mind. He still has to endure a lot, even though he has people this time, and the death of his mother has affected him a lot. I'm glad this time around he's not blaming Dany for it, though I think that only came about after he sold his mother's crown, and only out of resentment, I don't think he actually believed in it (or maybe i'm being too hopeful lol). |
novelreader chapter 30 . 9/17/2017 Benjen's outright loyalty to Viserys I admit I find very strange, especially since idk if this might be true but didn't Rickard Stark agreed to those betrothals in order to be prepared to rebel against the Mad King should the man set sights on the North and declare them as enemies? Furthermore, after everything that happened I'm pretty sure Benjen would be wary about Targaryens just like Ned. He didn't even know if Lyanna was alive at the time when he visited Viserys' court. I wish Lyanna would say she regretted it. I understand where she's coming from, but what she did was not just childish but also started a war. Plus she was 15 which at that time was considered as an adult of that era, so her excuse doesn't really count. A lot of maidens like her had to go through arranged marriages too, though yeah again I get it she was scared and she was scared that she was going into a marriage with a man who might get tired of her, bed other women, and who knows might even be cruel towards her. Look how he treats Cersie, though one could also argue he treated Cersie that way as a result of the war. We don't what kind of person he was before the war, aside from being kind of a manwhore. But yeah going back to Benjen and his loyalty to Viserys. If I saw some interaction with them or if Benjen owed something to Viserys then okay, but right now he sounds like one of those brainwashed fanatics who are like "why aren't you following your king". I mean come on, true we might not get a lot from Benjen as a character in cannon which is why this isn't too much of a problem, but still he's a northerner man! Their independent! They think independently. Or maybe that's just my bias thinking idk. I just don't like the Targaryen loyalist fanatic mentality he seems to have "HE is your king", uh no Robert is his king, right now he's on the Iron Throne, and Ned also helped him win it so can't blame Ned for not automatically joinging the Targaryen campaign. Not to mention, he did all of that for Lyanna and to avenge Brandon and his dad's death, as well as self preservation since Aerys' was calling for Ned's head, as well as Robert's mind you, so even Robert didn't have a choice but to rebel. And Jon Arryne, why he's their foster father, of course he's gonna help too. They all fought for a just cause, it was the Targaryens that were truly bad. Hell Aerys wanted to burn the entire city to the ground! The only villain in the winner side I think which tore away from the "justness" of their cause, was the Lannisters whose attack was a sheer sign of power grab and changed the nature of the rebellion from justice to power grab especially since no justice came about. No only more wrongs, because apparently the rape of Elia and the murder of Aegon and Rhaenys justifies the murder caused by Aerys and the war that was caused by Rhaegar's foolish actions, and that was just wrong. In the end of the day, I'm pretty much sure that Robert's reign, while not great, was certainly a lot more better than Aerys, so I find it hard to believe people really be thinking that the reign of the dragons were truly peaceful when Aerys was the last ruler of which they probably have on the forfront of their minds. Also Rhaegar's actions probably doesn't help much. I'm for team Viserys don't get me wrong (tbh I'm more for him giving up the throne and putting that goal on a standstill until it really is time idk) but I'll be suprised if Ned joins the group. He's in a pretty tight spot, Robert B is his best friend after all, and Ned Stark is all about loyalty and honor, he's not gonna turn back on his friend just like that, even for a sister, whose actions were the reason the war came about in the first place. |
novelreader chapter 29 . 9/17/2017 I like Jon's answer to Robb's question, it seems like when it comes to comparing good and bad with the Targaryen family, it's either you're like Rhaegar (who is apparently good) or like Aerys (whose bad and mad). Viserys is always compared to Aerys and is said to be "more of Aery's son" (even though honestly his madness is much more understandable in my opinion. I can understand why he became mad in cannon, being told he was a prince and above and then to be forced to live as a peasant and beg for a living while taking care of his baby sister and the weight of getting back the throne by himself with no help because nobody was willing to offer anything is just sad), and Daenerys is compared to Rhaegar of course. I think these comparisons are sort of true, Viserys is like Aerys to an extent and Daenerys is like Rhaegar to an extent, but in the end of the day, they are their own persons. |
novelreader chapter 27 . 9/17/2017 Ahhh I just realized Volatis is kind of like France I guess, right? Since I think if Viserys is based on the "Pretender Kings James and Charles" it was France I think that coronated them as rightful king and helped them to gain back the throne... or was that Spain? Then again this could also parallel Henry VII who was supported by French mercenaries to gain back the throne... though i heard that Daenerys was based on Henry VII... would have been interesting to have Viserys be a male version of Margaret Beufort lol. I like bookish Viserys who pro universal education since I think I read Margaret Beufort had a hand in creating a lot of schools in England when Henry VII finally became king. She also created an alliance with Elizabeth Woodeville on the marrage of their children... though apparently Elizabeth of York influenced Sansa, not Jon. Not sure if this version of Viserys would be for hooking up both Dany and Jon since cannon Viserys was determined to marry his own sister to continue tradition... Unless he becomes so smitten with Arianne lol ;) wow never thought Jamie didn't want to be anything like his father. Ah the Lanniser family problems and turmoil are so interesting. More so then Targaryen maddness, which potential of family turmoil was destroyed when Khal Drogo poured gold over Viserys' head... geez I wonder if we're going to see that guy... hope not, though i don't know if I want the dragons names to change from cannon, I like the names Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserions (especially Viserion) very much. In the last chapter there was something Benjin said that confused me. What was Robert doing wrong? Changing trade with Pentos to Bravos is bad, why? I mean idk why that's bad or why he would do that in the first place, but still I don't know if that makes him a bad man unless I know why he did it... Is it because Bravos is the only anti-slavery state out of the Free Cities? Also not sure about how I feel about Viserys' faction destroying what seems to be the closest thing to democracy in the world of A song of Ice and Fire. I also don't like the Tigers party very much even if I adore Talisa Maeygr. I wonder how this will affect the future of the world. Not to mention that Viserys seems to be okay with slavery but then again he has no reason to hate it unlike cannon Daenerys so... but then again cannon Daenerys had a very strong moral compass even if some of her views on things are somewhat twisted by her upbringing. |
novelreader chapter 24 . 9/17/2017 Man I really feel for Robert here even if I don't agree with his decisions on the rebels. He really does give you the Henry VIII vibes doesn't he? Or at least he does to me, in both show and here. Man Stannis the Mannis, dying is the worst thing. I really love Stannis, and I'm a little angered by Viserys killing him man. Stannis was the best of the Baratheon brothers, I feel like sane Viserys would like him a lot... or maybe Stannis is more like Rhaegar but without the prophecy obsession though I think not because Stannis is an underdog for being not so pretty and pretty unlikable to people which I pin to Viserys because he's pretty much the same, though he is kind of pretty but not like his brother who was definately more likable then Viserys who has a temper and an attitude. Both Stannis and Viserys are also middle brothers, and it is them who carry the burden of the throne and the family when their older brothers fail. They also have huge insecurity problems... Still I guess it's fitting that the middle brother kills one middle brother and an older brother kills another. Now Viserys and Robert are even. A brother for a brother. |
novelreader chapter 21 . 9/16/2017 okay this is interesting. So who is this Samwell Tarly? Randyll's father or uncle or something? |
novelreader chapter 19 . 9/16/2017 So I'm guessing this guy along with the men he's meeting are OCs? |
novelreader chapter 18 . 9/15/2017 This was just so sweet *sobs* my heart just swelled seeing uncle vissy being all big brother mentor instead of big brother bully. He's a big brother mentor to Dany apparently in cannon in the sense he taught her everything about being a Targaryen and who she is, possibly taught her Valyrian too, but apparently most of his lessons, Dany tends to do the opposite because she didn't agree with him? Well he did become kind of crazy in the end (not that I blame him much poor Vissy.), that and their relationship went downhill after Viserys had to sell their mother's crown in order for the both of them to survive. :( It's so nice to see a different relationship, and with Jon added, AHHH that's a bonus! |
novelreader chapter 16 . 9/15/2017 OOOKAY... well things got interesting... Never really thought about what kind sexuality Benjen has but you know... might be part of the reason he took the Black lol. I wonder if he had any relationships at the wall. I love how your fleshing Benjen out though. I mean we don't get a lot of him in the shows. Not sure about the books... |
novelreader chapter 15 . 9/15/2017 Oh wow are they in bed, I was imagining they were outside but then again wouldn't make sense of them to be kissing in the open. I only got the sense they were in bed with Jaime fiddling with the sheets. These are really short chapters but I like how you're starting. The dialogue was great. |
novelreader chapter 10 . 9/15/2017 That ending line was very interesting. Viserys and Rhaegar's relationship is such a mystery, I enjoy other people's interpretation or trying to fill the blanks. |
