Reviews for Surprises
Dina C chapter 5 . 9/7/2016
Really lovely story featuring a mature, compassionate Sally Donovan. Loved your original, clever plot and the way she and Mycroft teamed up. Well done.
sweetmarly chapter 5 . 8/21/2016
Nice continuation of the party in the last chapter and that Sally is continuing her relationship with the gentleman from that chapter.

That was a fantastically worded speech from Sherlock to the creep that had John. I'd swoon myself.

Lovely ending to this story. I liked the characterization of everyone, how they all came together to help John and Sherlock and that Sally is now considered a friend.

Well done.

This I'd hood
sweetmarly chapter 4 . 7/17/2016
It is good to see the boys finally coming together but really the focus is on Sally. I like this Sally. You have made her a good cop, a smart cop in her own right and capable of being a good friend.

I am looking forward to how you will be ending the story.
Suealpacamama chapter 4 . 7/15/2016
I really like this...good ole Mycroft! I hope you have another chapter or two up your sleeve.
sweetmarly chapter 3 . 6/20/2016
About time indeed. It seems like everyone is hurting in seeing how much the boys are suffering and Mary is probably gloating. This is so exciting. I am eager to read what comes next.

Abigail is a sweet name.
sweetmarly chapter 2 . 6/20/2016
How hateful Mary is in this story. You have not said so but has she always been trying to kill John's affection for Sherlock or only since Sherlock came back? I am sure future chapters will show just with whom she is really working for. I like your Sally. Nice to see her as strong but also a decent person. I like the idea of her working with Mycroft towards a common goal.
sweetmarly chapter 1 . 6/20/2016
Very nice. I like that Sally is the instigator for change here to bring John and Sherlock together. She has grown quite a bit in maturity since Sherlock jumped. This chapter is an excellent start to the story.
TooGoodToBeTrue chapter 3 . 6/17/2016
Quite a jump in time from the events of the last chapter. I am surprised that Mycroft waited so long but I am sure you will explain that eventually. This chapter is so charming. The concern and mutual affection between the boys is quite lovely.

Yes, I certainly like your Sally. I am so looking forward to the next chapter.
TooGoodToBeTrue chapter 2 . 6/17/2016
Mummy? Now that's refreshing. I never would have thought of that. This is a very mysterious chapter. There is a lot going on here that confuses me but I am sure you did that on purpose. Your Mary is certainly unpleasant here. I disliked her when you wrote that she tampered with Sherlock's morphine. I really dislike her here.
TooGoodToBeTrue chapter 1 . 6/17/2016
I like the interaction between these three. Great dialogue. Nice to see Sally playing on the right team for a change. This story is quite promising in its concept.
RoseJustice chapter 3 . 6/16/2016
I'm really liking this! I wish this would happen in the actual show, Sally going up to bat for our boys! And while I rather like Amanda Abbington and her performance as Mary, I have to admit to having reservations about her relationship with John...but at the same time, I like the John/Mary pairing in that, in the show, she doesn't actually try to come between Sherlock and John, unlike John's other girlfriends who were annoyed by Sherlock, she actually likes him.
Suealpacamama chapter 2 . 6/8/2016
Oh, you need to update this soon, please! While I never liked Sally Donavon, I like her now. And while I liked Amanda Abbington's portrayal of Mary, I have never liked Mary...She needs to get what she deserves.
Captain Evermind chapter 2 . 6/8/2016
Ouch. Mary was really twisting the knife there. Seems like it's opened John's eyes a little though. Nice chapter. I really like the way you write Sally. She makes a surprisingly sympathetic protagonist. :-)
Captain Evermind chapter 1 . 5/31/2016
Oooh! Intriguing premise. I love Sally stories, and there aren't nearly enough of them around. I look forward to seeing what you do with this.
