I'm so sorry Yin! I could tell you that finals are kicking my ass throughly but that still a shitty excuse for not talking to a friend. I really don't deserve all those sweet comments you left me all month. Again, I'm sosososososoosoosososoosososo sorry and I hope you can forgive me for everything. I haven't seen Endgame yet as i still have a final paper that is due next week but hopefully I can catch a show as well as Detective Pikachu! Ok so back to the story. Is Simmons pregnant with a rock or did the shard morph into a human-like being like Steven Universe so it's a living shard now? I'm also pretty curious about what Temple wants from Simmons cause as far as i remember Loco hadn't made a machine that runs on remnants or shards or whatever so like what would he need Simmons to heal? I suppose it could just be a ransom deal, "Haha UNSC I got Simmons give me what i want and you may get him back?" One of those kinds of deal. Oh and I also spent today catching up on season 17 and I never knew that I needed Wash and Donut bonding, being best friends but I do need it. NAH POOR BABIES! Donuts speech was one of the best thing that his character has done and I love my lightish red child so much more now! Also Doc lives HORAH! I can have my Lonutdoc and savor it too (poor Locus)! See you in the next stories (i'm so not done gushing over Donut (or Huggins)).

It was nice seeing this fic update! I love this fantasy AU and how all of the characters interact. Donut teaming up with Jax, Dylan, and Sharkface is a pretty awesome touch (I love how Donut's connected to everything!). I'm totally looking forward to more of their scenes together! I also loved seeing the Reds and Blues and the Freelancers getting a move on and joining up. I have a feeling they're going to need all the support they can get with Temple's crew and Hargrove and Felix on the move. Speaking of Felix, I *loved* that Locus helped Grif and Simmons reunite! I like the Biff reference (I saw that heh heh). I really interested in what Locus role will be now that he's transferring over Grif and Simmons side. I mean obviously he's gonna be their wingman so they can meet-up a lot till the rescue (which they don't know about yet)but like after that what's he gonna do? Is he gonna wonder around a bit to clear his head or whatever like in he show then help Grif and/or Simmons or go with everybody when they escape? I also like the little snippet that it takes full grown (possible, if I remember right their like half breeds) Orcs to hold back 1 worried/angry Grif. MY BAMF BOY! YES! NNNOOOOO DLYAN! JAX DO NOT CHUG HOT COFFEE! It's very painful and very dry afterwards with that burnt tingle feeling. If you are planning to harm yourself drink lots of milk or thicker liquids to coat your throat. Ok so on your response to my last comment I just want to make sure I understand link magic cause it's a big part of the story and it's probably going to save the world somehow. So Grif (possible Simmons) is unconsciously "summoning"/"calling" each other through the dreams? But it's only really affective in close proximity or when their mind/emotions are unguarded? Because Grif was on guard the whole time Simmons was held at UNSC, even when asleep somehow, so no dream walking/talking/kissing but now Grif (and Simmons (?) shield is cracking due to what I can only describe as yearning? I know it's going to come up possible more towards the Remnants climax but what is the purpose of Link magic? I can understand like battle strategies, I can understand deep bonds and relationships and wanting to know that the other is safe, I can understand power boosters but like outside of that like during peace times what purpose does it have? Was it just like a soulmate type of deal to the elves? Could anyone perform link magic with anyone else? Could friends be connected by link magic? I'm really just curious of the context regarding link magic. I'm also really curious how this link magic gonna work in the climax. Like obviously the UNSC and the Bad Orcs are going to corrupt the Remnant(s) but is Grif and everyone one gonna blow up the corrupted Remnant(s) then Simmons comes swaggering in like "move aside babe. I got this", and reform and purify the Remnant(s) so that all the plague babies are "healed, "returned to their elvish selfs", or "be put to rest" bad guys get fucked the end? Or does like the power of love save everyone? Cause Simmons now has a Remnant/Relic inside his body and I made a goof/ suggestion earlier in the story about lifesaving kisses so is it the true loves kiss fairy tale trope thing gonna happen? I honestly would be both fine with both options as long as there's a happy ending. We all could use more swaggering Simmons and life saving kisses in life lol. Ok I done ranting. AS always I'm in love with your work. You're truly talented Yin! Though your probably going to hope to another story after this, which is awesome too, though I doubt its WWWS though according to you is almost done but, whatever. Oh, the mystery of what Felix is up to intensifies! I'm super excited to see that Locus might be heading down a redemption route since I like that about his character in canon too. Great to see that Temple and co as well as Dylan and Jax are fitting into the plot nicely. I thought Dylan's magic gift was a nice touch given her journalist background too! The Guild members getting ready to move promises to make things exciting, and I'm so glad that Simmons has had enough of his Grif avoidance (now, if only the orange-armored guy would realize he needs to talk to Simmons too!)! Richard "Dick" Simmons should change his name to Richard "Dick Block" Simmons. Yeah that was funnier in my head. Anyway, I have a few questions about linking magic: 1. Simmons while imprisoned could feel Grif blocking their connection so does Grif know when Simmons wakes up from these dreams on some level or does he think they are going all out mentally? 2) Do they both equally have power over their connection or is Grif more advance then Simmons since he was more aware about it then Simmons. Seriously Grif gave your man a real world hickey if you wanna kiss his neck so badly! I think you wrote their making out scene pretty well in all honesty. I was kinda shocked when Simmons woke up too lol. The Tuckington and hint of Docnut was awesome! Is it wrong that I kinda wish that Locus recognized Grif? Hmmm...I wonder even if he doesn't recognize Grif from their fight(?), would he pair up Grif and Simmons again? If I remember correctly Locus is way more aware of Simmons moods so seeing how being around Grif or orange soldier in his case has a more calming affect on Simmons then felix or himself would have. Which if I were a evil shithead who needed people to do stuff for me, I'd try to make them feel as calm and pleasant as possible. But I don't really know how Simmons healing aura/powers work maybe he needs to feel a certain amount of pain (physically, emotionally, or mentally) to be effective? Like in the prequel I'm sure he was mentally beating himself up for injuring Grif and sad when healing his friends from the tournament. YAY! we meet the Blues and Reds! I wonder what their going to be up to in this story? Probably something revengey and overdramatic. Anyway I'm really enjoying these Remnant updates! I can't wait for Grif and Simmons to interact in person or dreams I guess, though they should probably talk before they make out *cough* Grif *cough* again. Oh, I really liked this chapter! It was an awesome return to the Grif and Simmons' Linking Magic dynamic, and the near-smut at the end was perfect (no need to say it wasn't written well!)! They need to just man up and talk to each other. It seems like Locus might play a role in that too, which is awesome! I really enjoyed getting a more in-depth look at Temple an co. and how they're fitting into Orc society. The Wash and Tucker part was written well, and I liked how Doc brought them right into the main Donut plot. As always, great chapter and I', looking forward to what happens next! XD

Poor Grif you just can't run from 'the call to adventure' can you. Though I can understand where your coming from hoping that you and your soon to be husband could just live in fantasy land all lazy and domesticated but it's just not interesting to read and were fans here and enjoy all your slight discomforts cause it leads to character growth. Except for that 'hate glue' moment that NO ONE called him out on. SIMMONS THAT'S YOUR HUSBAND SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THAT PLEASE! I'm really hoping Grif gets a confidence boost or something in the new storyline. Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, hunnypoo what kind of reporter are you. Your probably used to less fabulous people but really use that beautiful brain of yours look at Donut. Now look at glittery letter with its awesome calligraphy. Now back to Donut. Whatever this world is called. So they are using Simmons as a charger to reactivate the spell that turned the elves and possible other creatures and people into plague beast so people would be against magic and/or become citizen of their country for reasons probably tax related since that's how most of these kinda go or something. I'll be honest, really kinda hoping for a Pocohantas visit John Smith scene between Grif and Simmons in the future. Wow this review kinda lame old spice jokes, lame disney movie references. I'm think I should lay down or I might make even worse jokes and references that causes the multi-verse to cringe. Oh, the plot thickens! I love how Grif and Simmons are angsting over their past decisions while still being in the same place...like, SERIOUSLY, dudes. At the same time, that's so freaking in character for them (especially Season 15 them) that it works. I also *love* that Donut is scheming on the side, and the addition of Dylan, Jax, and Temple and company is really interesting. I can't wait to see what they bring to the mix! I love this Fantasy AU and I'm so happy to see a new update for it. I hope things will get better for Grif, Simmons, and the others...but, I have a feeling it will be getting complicated first. Is this foreshadowing the return of Gollum!Grif?! Oh, sweet naive Donut. This is such a bad idea. Like, I get the whole inside man gig but. even spies had was to communicate with their team and an escape plan, YOU WERE SMUGGLED OUT OF THE UNSC IN A SUITCASE! SIMMONS COULD OF POSSIBLE DIED IF NOT FOR THE POWER OF LOVE (cause lets be real linked magic is apparently a magical users/elven way to say soul mate). How would either of you communicate what was happening? How would either of you cinnamon escape if shit hit the fan? Donut, I guess could just bamf! out like Nightcrawler, but poor Simmons can't do that. I really hope someone in that room thought of these things before giving the enemy two (adorable) hostages. UGH! YIN! WHY! Seriously though, I'm so looking forward to seeing and not seeing what happens next (i'm worried Simmons is gonna be experimented on again and it'll be painful). Grif would be affected too by the experiments, now that I think about it. MOI POOR BABIES! Though I'm looking forward to someone slapping sense into Grif, though I suspect he already knows but hides it due to his insecurities and flaws, that he is in love with Simmons. Don't get me wrong I'm up for girl power and what not, but I think it would be interesting to have a male maiden who fights alongside his female teammates to battle evil or whatever. Granted it probably won't happen and our girls in team RWBY are more likely to take the title, though that would make Ruby MAD OP (maiden powerssilver eyes). I would be up for a team STRQ arch to or even an episode or even a flash back or for someone to bring it up in conversation that wasn't just a bloody sentence! I'd like that very much. I honestly just really wanna want to know what Summer was like. I get that she's basically Ruby just older but, I'm sure she had her own views on things too, right? No one exactly like their parents, unless their clones. Anyway, I've been thinking of that Space Pirate/Smuggler/whatever AU I've mentioned to escape the dark Gollum-like depth of my own mind. To give you a general idea of what Firefly is like more specifically the movie is a group of smugglers or odd job crew that has what is the equivalent of a sleeper agent, who is introduced in the series, that was created to defend humanity against space zombies basically and evade the government cause smugging a no go and they created the sleeper agent so there's that and well the movie ends. So one idea is that someone from Freelancer or Church is a sleeper agent or Simmons since you put that poor boy through the wash all the time. You could go the whole destined hero route also like Star Wars (prequels). Or could borrow some Battlestar Galactica plot lines, it's been a while since I've watched it but I can do some digging for info/episodes. Their also the whole MCU or at least the Guardians and Thor movies to choose from. Anything is possible! lol seriously though these are just my thoughts and you don't have to write anything you don't want just because I draw fanart for you and your stories. I'm curious about something though, I read that pillow talk chapter of them in the closet and was wondering if something similar would be brought up in Avalanche? Ok, I'm nearly done ranting, I just want to thank you for being so kind to me and especially of my artwork. Oh, that cliffhanger ending for Volume I! O_O Mean~! But, it totally works for making me excited about the next Volume now. Poor Simmons and Donut! And poor Grif and Doc too. That couldn't have been easy on them (and Sarge and Lopez saying goodbye as well was really touching). I loved seeing Donut in "prince" mode and the reveal about Simmons being a Replicant was really cool (it explained why he was always so connected to the Remnants!). It is obvious you've set up all of these details from the start, and that's some impressive world/story building! As always, I loved reading all of the dialogue and character interactions as you have a great knack for them. You could just *feel* the awkwardness of the North and South reunion, and I could really picture Carolina's mounting frustration. It was nice to see that Doyle isn't as loyal to the Unsc as Kimball initially believed (really cute scene, btw!), and...poor Grif when he figured out what Simmons was planning to do! I hope that Grif and Simmons will be reunited in the second volume soon. Poor guys deserve a chance for happiness! As always, this was an awesome update to a great story. I'M SO VERY SORRY YIN! It's been a hard week and some for me as well. I haven't been physically ill or something like that. It's mostly been adjusting back to school/work and my mental illness acting up causing me to just want to sleep and stuff my face with food. I do hope that you and your family get well very soon. I just caught up with all the updates and some moments were just so touching I wanted to cry. Fun fact: I got rather teary-eyed with Jensen and Andersmith section. I'm curious about what exactly Reggie and Butch are going to get themselves into specifically. And obviously, you know how to make me second-hand blush with all these cuties interacting with each other being their adorable self, even South section got face red lol. I saw the new RWBY too and while I like most of it like the maiden fight, a few things were a bit disappointing like Blake and Adam encounter, if she could have smacked him around that easily why not do it before Yang lost her arm? And Jaune abilities not being healing and RT just teasing us was uncalled for. In response to your Summer equals Spring maiden theory, it is quite possible, but also as you've mention Raven and the rest of team STRQ act like she lord Voldemort and dare not speak about her. Though if Summer was the maiden before Raven's friend/second in command then what was Summer relation to Verny? Cause if powers are transferred through thoughts of more then likely friends and family or other people one would think about before dying, then Summer would of have to had known her and deemed her worthy of maiden power. She could have also been "experimented" on by Oz since Silvers Eyes are so rare. I don't imagine it's and too dramatizing but, Oz is a sneaky manchild. He took over his previous host in volume 1-3 and again when Oscar told him not to, so he gets stuff done so it's possible that Summer got hurt by Oz's hand.
Feel free to dub me a loser of geek or whatever but, the only way that I know about Leiji Matsumoto's work is because of Interstella 5555 anime/music videos for Daft Punk lol. Though Captian Harlock sounds (reads) awesome. It's pretty similar to Firefly in some aspects actually. Both deal with Earth being unfit for life so humanity moves out, the difference being that Firefly is more of a Han Solo/Smuggler Wild West approach then Harlock more classic pirate aesthetic. If you can watch Firefly, I suggest that you do it's only like 12 episodes and 1 movie (it got canceled after season 1). Or I can spoil it for you if you want to, cause some people don't have time to watch early 2000 tv shows. I doubt I could be bored of you either. Oh and I updated my deviant art gallery, Blankslate101, just for you. I only wish I was a better artist both on the digital and tradition front. I'm also really sorry that it's not colored as well. Even though this chapter was a little light on action, I loved all of the character interactions that you presented here. The dialogue is true to character while also being really emotional. I liked the Wyoming and Florida moment, as they both have those underlining feelings but also a tendency to self-preserve. There's a lot of baggage and history there that I think you convey really well! The Andersmith and Jensen moment was so touching, and I liked how Palomo ninja'ed his way in there! It was cool seeing Niner and Filss interact more, and it was nice how Niner pushed Filss towards talking with Sheila too. I loved the Washington and Tucker conversation, and the allusion to more things to come in the plot by mentioning Tucker's instincts. Finally, that Grif and Simmons scene...loved it! The emotional vulnerability and rawness coupled with the fact that they both just suck at talking was so nicely in character. Awesome job! I'm sure things will hit the fan in Volume I's finale, but this was a great calm before the storm so to speak. Thank you so much for continuing to update! XD

Haha, I love this series and I'm so glad you're going to just try to finish Volume 1 off quickly since you're so close (obviously not to ending the story as a whole, but I like that you're dedicated to at least getting the first part out of the way!)! It seems like Grif's decision not to tell the others what he knows *might* bite him in the butt later, but that's pretty par the course for Grif, lol! I like how South and C.T. met at the bar, only to see Grif there...and for Grif to meet up with Simmons with drinking intentions later! Haha, seems like those two couples might be some pretty conversational drinkers, haha! As always, I love the interactions you have between the characters here even though this chapter was just a "recovery"/set-up chapter: Grif's scenes with both Kai and Simmons; York and Carolina's scene with Delta and Simmons; Tucker's scene with Church and Tex (while witnessing the interaction with Caboose and Niner and Washington)...they all flowed so well together and I loved how true to the characters and relationships they were! I find it really impressive how cohesive and big this fic feels, which is so perfect for a fantasy setting. Even when characters aren't really prominently featured *in* the chapter, you mention them and allow them to have their own stuff going on in the background. As always, amazing job with this update! XD
