okay confession; I've missed out watching Inception in theaters even though the reviews for it were generally positive and it's probably silly of me to miss it out but I guess now that your fic is here, I've got a reason to watch it, but at the same time, I'm glad I haven't, yet. I don't know which is better, watching it and knowing the full concept or actually not watching it to better enjoy the story without spoilers? (I've watched the trailers before, so I kinda(?) knows what's going on...?) But anyway, even if I did or did not, I do actually quite understand what is going on with this AU you've created, despite how "complex" it seemed. It's certainly interesting and awesome to see how Gin will be taking down the organization he was so loyal to because of this "Incepting the idea" into his head. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

At first I thought you've created an AU where Kaito and Aoko never met each other before and Shinichi was originally Kaito, but wow, you kept everything in place and WHAT IS WITH RAN OMG WHAT IS GOING ON. The scene when Ran appeared was haunting, wow. Now I have to cope with another dead Ran (Oh God, is it just a bullet wound or is she really dead?) And ugh. Ugh. Everything is basically UGH to me.

I also LOVE those little casual bits of moments when Aoko remembers Kaito, but she blocked out that thought and let it fade away. Kaito wasn't even physically involved in most of the parts and yet I felt he was always there. I don't know if it's your intention, but it feels so UGH and so real that I am basically Aoko now, trying to forget Kaito but he's just always... there. Seriously amazing, you.

Basically, really liked how you get all these characters to be involved in this fic (Shinichi shouldn't be upset about how you're neglecting him, now). Can't wait for the next chapter! Heheh
