Hm, interesting start. I didn't read the original, so it's a bit of a surprise to see someone very, different from canon Kirito's personality. But in a good way, because a genderbender should change lots of stuff.

The writing is nice, you did a good job capturing Sinon's character and her third person train of thought.

That out of the way, you finally took the turn into my kind of realm. And I'm liking it so far. I've been waiting for someone to bring in an actual pairing that outright hates Kimiko's guts at first.

I've seen them before, but the quality of them hasn't been very high elsewhere. And most of that hatred stemmed from Kirito acting like a girl in canon.

It's why I loved it when you had Sinon despise Kiriko in GGO SW. It not only brought a human touch and reason to Sinon, but it gave her a path to take in order to develop. It gave Kimiko the option of trying to change Sinon's viewpoint.

When it was changed? It was very well worth it.

I look forward to seeing what you'll do for this run through. Or, rather, more of a tripping extravaganza with an overly skilled raven-haired beauty always there to catch you.

"She had her most recent PlayStation model situated on a shelf that was had levels made of metal grates..." The 'was' and 'had' aren't supposed to both be there, I assume. And I would've went with 'layers' or 'panels' or even 'parts of the console's shell'. Though, levels works too.

...she could've at least put her PlayStation in rest mode. It'll remain on, update whenever needed, and also keep itself in a stasis for either rapidly turning back on or maintaining the current game's data that was running at the time. It's better than just leaving it on, Sinon. XD

Poor Sinon, being so utterly destroyed in a game she had confidence in as one of its top local players in the arena. To clear that kind of distance would take a LOT of speed, which you clearly wanted to define in that biome and how wind worked in direct relation to mobility. Seriously though, that arena must have been fairly large, but not too large. Due to the game itself being mostly melee based. So, around fifteen to twenty feet apart for a proper duel. In this sense, yeah that distance is quite clearable with Kiriko's buffed speed due to both the wind and the extra boost she got after gaining the center buff as well. I hope that would've also affected Sinon's arrows... if she happened to get one off at all.

I liked the addition of their in-game messaging. Honestly, I feel that was way better than if those two actually somehow respawned in the same lobby and had an in-game live chat instead. I don't know why, but it's just a little more endearing and better fitting of Sinon's personality.

As for the pills, yeah. Realism is definitely something nice to come across. Most people take leaps and bounds to avoid too much realism at all costs in favor of making sure everything works out. It can be nice in some places, but like you said it's not that great for writing. Sometimes realism is preferred, actually. The 'everything works out' effect is kind of annoying most times if its without much reason.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. If those two things I mentioned were errors, you'll probably fix them when you can. Surprising that those got through two editors, and the writer. In any case, I look forward to seeing what Kiriko might keep calling Sinon, how she might help Sinon get over her anxiety and pill-necessity, and what happens at school. None of which will be resolved anytime soon if at all, or maybe just a few. Who knows. I look forward to it all anyway.
