I can take a guess and say he marked as his mate so he could have her for the rest of his lifespan. He was taught certain things by Myouga and likely in his embarrassment he didn't pay attention about marking. So inu daiyoukai self took the lead. Inu daiyoukai Inuyasha knew that their greatest desire is to keep Kagome forever and so marked Kagome as mate. They won't notice any side effects for a few days like Kagome gaining Inuyasha's healing powers, increase in stamina, changes in her senses, etc.

This is AH-MAZE-ING! I'm practically a puddle of goo right now. There so perfect as a couple (swoons) I can hardly stand it! And your ability to write their chemistry the way you do is bloody uncanny (seeing them both so happy and in love warms me to the core)! You give me goosebumps.

And right out of the gate you had me mad blushing too. I love reading their intimacy scenes; I know it's weird, but I think their absolutely beautiful, the way they connect in those moments and fully show/give themselves to each other (and like you said, are vulnerable), so I always hope the writer has (at least heheh) one in the story. It's also why I'm so thankful when writers have an account on websites like media miner (I think you have one, right?), so that the author never has to worry about losing all their hard earned reviews, but can write freely.

Though I really don't understand why there are such strict rules on this site anyways. Those that are underage will read them (or find a way to) if thats what they want, so as long as you warn people ahead of time, in case they don't want to read it, then what's the point? There are worser things kids will see on the internet then smut in fanfiction. But that's just me ranting now. ;p

I LOVE post-canon InuYasha/Kagome stories! It has an extremely massive space in my heart. People keep telling me there are alot out there, but I find that they're always different and completely unique, so they never get boring. Ever. I could just read post-canon romance 24/7. Really I could. I REALLY, REALLY hope your thinking of writing more of them. (BTW- I'm always on the lookout for great post-canon IY/KAG romance, so I was wanting to ask if you know of any? I'm right now working my way through 'Light Me A Lantern', which is just...WOW!, and Ive read knittingknots work and of course some oneshots, but I always have to ask if theres something I haven't seen and should be reading asap. I love getting recommendations, and that goes for anything IY/KAG, not just post-canon settings.)
