i love the half-poem rhythm you've got going. it suits the whimsicality / fable-like air of the story.

We think Shiro is confused imagine how confused his younger twin brother must be feeling. XD
'So is Rin my older brother or my older sister and what would he be if he doesn't have a gender that day?'
'How the cheeseWhiz is Rin able to create talismans to ward off demons?'

And I imagine one day Yukio getting badly injured and Rin being the one to heal him.
Or how about some of the Magic members coming up to Yukio, to give him offerings as Rin-sama's younger brother, and then for some reason the ones who did so getting extremely good luck from it. Making them believe that Rin-sama was very pleased with them giving offerings to their younger sibling. So people who want good luck for the day start bringing offerings for Yukio and he's just super confused by it.

And by good luck I mean stuff like the date they went on ended really well, they ended up winning a free meal as the 100th customer of the day, they won the local lottery, the found something they had lost, a priceless painting was found when they went to clean up their attic. Just random lucky incidents.

Gods this funny. Why don't people write more of these?

Don't sell yourself short. It is a very different story, hence the interest of people in the pretty new concept. I'm not going to comment on anything in particular since i'm simply enjoying the story as a fairly nonsensical/lighthearted approach to things that manages to stay consistent(funny isn't just stringing together tropes, but what we have here). Just going to say that it is very nice to read.

But what i do want to comment on is your original idea to leave it as a one shot and that you're unsure of where to go with the plot.

My answer to that dilemma? Nowhere, go absolutely nowhere!

With that i mean that you don't need a real ending and overarching plot. Instead make your set up the plot, the centerpiece being Rin stumbling through stuff. A nonsensical story with a very clear beginning and no actual goal, and as such an adventure that can be a neverending road. Each chapter a snap shot of here and there with Rin walking through life doing his thing, unwittingly effecting a great many people, accidently becoming a god and the bane of demons…

An example of how this can work would be Rorschach's Blot's „Make A Wish“.

In conclusion, i would like to see more of these (sort of) slice of live snippets and not necessarily a great crusade to save the world from doom(typical hero story so to say).
Can be in there or not, just not the thing that should be the central gimmick of the story in my opinion.
