observer chapter 1 . 5/11/2016
It's kind of weird to read about Izaya having parent issues since he doesn't have them and his parents are known to be fairly normal.

Thank you for writing this wonderful peace for Izaya's birthday! It's a lovely story that made me tear up. I'm happy that you focused not only on Izaya and Shizuo's relationship, but Shinra and Izaya's friendship as well! I'm actually a sucker for friendship fics.

I'll admit to you, that this is one of the few fics (actually it's your writing in general) that I don't mind having so many words with only a little dialogue. There is an art to the way you transition from scenes to the thought process of the characters (in this case Izaya) in the story. Smooth, compact, but with enough emotion to convince the readers of what the characters are feeling. You choose your words very well and you don't over-describe things. How you wrote this made it apparent that there was one theme and one theme only for the whole of the fic. Same as the title, and same as the word that kept resonating in my head for every sentence that I read. It's amazing how you were able to gravitate the way you plotted the scenes to just go full circle around that one theme when others sometimes stray from the point of their story. Everything written in this piece was relevant. They added a little bit more to the heartbreak, added a little bit more to the sorrow that kept building up before that satisfying ending finally came.

It's beautiful.

Again, thank you for writing this! I really enjoyed this fic.
