What a beautiful well crafted story! The characters were thoroughly rounded and the spaces you created were filled with so much colour and detail even down to Trevor...your premise sits naturally and did not feel contrived at all. In parts even brought me to tears. Thank you for this journey.

I loved this story. Your Clara is spot on, as she was in How to Fall in Love with a Time Traveller. I really enjoyed that one, but I love this one even more. You've simply got her down, and it makes me really happy, because I love her character so much.

It's been a long while since I've seen the episode with Rory and Amy, so I don't really have a feel for these characters anymore, but I had to share my love for how protective they were. My favourite Rory moment was definitely the following:
"She loves you and you've broken her, you don't get to just walk away from that as though you'd done nothing wrong."

I love how you wove the Doctor and John Smith in a storyline that had nothing to do with Doctor Who, yet still had both of them be the same man and 'travel' in a box (I am in awe of your creativity, really). I also had to stifle a giggle at 'Cyberman' Danny Pink. Maddie was adorable. I mean, how could you not love someone who gives away their favourite doll, because:
"But I love Mrs. Moffat so much that maybe she has a little bit of my love stuck inside her stitches, like magic, and maybe that will help your heart, so I want you to keep her."
That was so wonderful and lovely. And one of my favourite scenes, in which I could feel my heart beating ridiculously fast, was the one were she 'confessed' to knowing John and the Doctor were the same person all along (I really like that, by the way, that she could see through his facade and just thought it was a game, and thus didn't care). Her receiving the book John wrote for his own daughter made me all melt-y, and I could feel my heart soar when Maddie woke up, and even more when they went to bring John back home.

Okay, I gotta admit that I usually hate reading AUs. Therefore, I did come across this fanfic a couple of times but just went right past it. When I finally gave in, I fell for this fanfic immediately. I've solemnly dedicated my life for this fanfic for the past week, and I really have no regrets.

I love how you made Amy and Clara best friends, and Rory's kindness just melted my heart. Clara's relationship with Maddie was also so adorable. Oh, and how you managed to make this both whouffle and whouffaldi. I'm truly amazed.

I'm just really happy that John and Clara managed to fix their problems by the end. And I truly hope they will get many more years as a family. Anyhow, can't wait to read the sequel :)

This could all be solved very easily if clara just asked john to take over the Doctor's job at night... Like she had him as her operator instead of 'the doctor'

That chapter was a wonderful ending (and very nice new beginning for them) and all the parallels and references were very well done (as well as the "sleepover" conversation, Maddie is such a beautiful character). Him, imagining their conversation over dinner was so lovely, and bittersweet again. Maddie is getting better and better as i can see, and life goes on. I was clinging to Maddie's ability to shape her dreams and reach him through his, but maybe to much sci-fi mind seeing the reality has taken over the last chapters (which i'm not complaining about, that was a coup from your writing...).

This has been one heck of a roller coaster ride. Great to know the two would come to terms with their faults in the situation and get back together. Haha Maddie wanting a brother! Must be the French air alright. Despite his abuse Harry Saxon in his own way did love Maddie and Clara. His will surprised me. Well a tinsy bit! :D Now they can both put the past to rest and live happily with John.

Incredibly beautiful symmetry with "You're not supposed to be here." "Don't be alarmed,I'm merely coming to do a systems check."
Waving a white scarf and Clara and Maddie having a really weird dinner was just too funny.
Maddie thinking the stars found him was wonderful, as was Clara and John's conversation.
The whole "sleepover" section was hysterical and done perfectly. And I love that you ended with the blue skies!
My only complaint is that I need more! Please consider an epilogue or, better yet, a short multi-chapter sequel to update us on their happy, waking dreams and whether or not Maddie gets her birthday request. :)

Well, that will was certainly a surprise to me also. With only one chapter left, I'm holding out a hope that the money allows them to find John and be happy (crossing all my fingers-and toes).
