Reviews for A Beautiful World
Epsilon Scorpii chapter 2 . 9/24/2019
I for one absolutely adore your prose. This is a work worth coming back to read again and again just to savour each word. I was amazed by the vividness of the world you depicted, the characters so well thought out, especially Cecelia - her surprising reactions such as her sudden uplift in her mood at Mrs. Cuffe's insult when she recognized her blatant jealousy, her sanguine joy at being among the elite despite the fact she knew she was among predators, and of course her charming eloquence - made her a very captivating character to read.

I would even go as far as to ask you to teach me how to write - your range of vocabulary, your distinctively classical? prose in modern fiction, and brilliant characterization and clever world-building, makes me believe you already are an author of your own rather than a fanfiction writer! And if I haven't made it clear, I am a huge fan of your writing. :)

Hope to read more works from you!
Lmmhutch chapter 1 . 7/9/2019
Not crazy about the writing style but I did appreciate a peek into the lives of people who exist outside of Hogwarts during Voldemort’s rise to power. Its a good story.
G-Unot chapter 1 . 2/3/2017
You have a certain style of writing I really enjoy but seems to be dying out in favour of more simplistic prose. I loved the vividness, eloquence and purity of expression from each of the characters. Whilst some authors would let their own biases or views leak into the opinions and actions of their charactera, you were able to keep it unadulterated. Keep up the good work!
bigd95822 chapter 2 . 1/11/2017
To the victors go the I can't help think that for Cuffe and Cecilia, and all the attendees at that nights festivities, that its as if they fiddled while Rome burned, unaware of their oncoming destruction
I do think you have written something both gross and beautiful, joyful and sad, and for that I commend you.I look forward to your oncoming work with anticipation.

luvstarx3 chapter 2 . 8/21/2016
Absolutely beautiful writing! Great insights on the "winners" of the regime and expand upon Rowling's more suitable for children world. Definitely looking forward to more of your work!
782782 chapter 2 . 7/7/2016
This is spectacularly well-written. You paint the world and your multifarious characters' place in it with such great vividness and empathy. Your characters all feel like people, not stereotypes or lists of personality traits, and that's the highest praise I can give. I don't know whether you plan to write anything else of this sort, but if you do that would be lovely.
Guest chapter 1 . 5/27/2016
boring and pointless
The Other World chapter 2 . 5/27/2016
Breathtaking. Really excellent writing, and the worldbuilding bringing the elegant side of Voldemort's reign into sharp relief. I wish you had done another chapter with a contrast to how Cecilia fares when she hears the news of Voldemort's defeat, and what she feels and goes through in the days after when the world tilts upside down once more.
cameron1812 chapter 2 . 5/24/2016
Stunned. Disconcertingly so, this is so good. Thank you for the priviledge of reading it. Disturbingly brilliant, and if that was your goal, well...:) Looking forward to more.
GBTtown chapter 1 . 5/4/2016
Your glimpse of a dystopian future for the wizarding world is a very good aside to DH.
Jupp chapter 2 . 5/1/2016
How dreary.
LifeIsAGreatAdventure chapter 2 . 5/1/2016
Interesting. This one didn't do as much for me I think because the contrast with "after" was never fully made. This, from the pro-Voldemort circle would have been truly fascinating, particularly couched in the Victorian way you have written this story. Still, a fascinating read for which I thank you for the effort you put into it.
LifeIsAGreatAdventure chapter 1 . 4/30/2016
I actually like this a lot. I'm very curious to see what the next piece touches on. The conversation between Cuffe and Cecelia feels very Victorian (as I think JKR would more or less say would be right for the purebloods) and even the opening scenes are framed that way. Really nice touch on the Gringots action too. Looking forward to the second shot and thankful for your hard work on this one.
PatheticallyStranded chapter 1 . 4/30/2016
It's great to see you posting again after quite the hiatus. The writing quality is excellent as usual. In particular the exchange in the Ravenclaw room was a great example of the old pragmatist and the young idealist, which really is a timeless conversation. I have a perfect mental imagine of Cecilia, she is easy to hate but not cartoonishly so. I also think your description of the sorcerer's club is perfect logical leap from what we know both about pureblood society and is a
