Wonderful update I enjoyed all of the fluff and my heart cries for Junichi and Minako's friendship. They're never gonna be able to go back to how they used to be and they'll never get those years back. Orochimaru's admittedly one of my favorite characters in Naruto, but you've done a wonderful job of making him absolutely detestable in this story.

Story's good. I hope you finish it. Feels like it's fallen very much to the wayside on your priority list. I'm sorry you don't have more reviews, I suppose its a result of A, being a story about a supporting character (Shikamaru), and B, an OC. Even with her tie to the Uchiha family, you went in a decidedly 'lets not just rewrite canon events with an OC in team 7' approach and that probably drove lots of people away, compounding it with attaching her to Shikamaru as a love interest and best friend and a strong flirty gal pal friendship with Ino and throwing in OCs for her to team with and be mentored by and that probably also turned a lot of people away. All I can say is they've skipped over a very good story and I hope you can find it in you to finish this for yourself if for nobody else. Take pride in it, because you've done a fine job as a fanfiction writer with this and you've absolutely nothing to be down in the dumps or ashamed about when it comes to it. You're much better than most of the authors here who have stories with hundreds of reviews.

You're very welcome for the reviews, thank you for the update and I'm glad you found what I had to say useful. Is it just me or did Itachi feel a little jealous there when Minako was describing some of the finer points of her and Sasuke's twin bond?

I just got this feeling that he excused himself as abruptly as he did because he was upset to learn in such blatant and passionate speech straight from the source, that a part of Sasuke lives figuratively if not literally within Minako and vice versa for Sasuke when it comes to her; and that said part of their connection is something he could never even hope to match.

Good luck with college. I'm currently not attending but I'll be returning to classes for the Fall this year after a long break for extensive medical testing so I'm gearing up to be bogged down with tons of assignments come September and can relate to how you're feeling in your current semester. Hang in there and try not to overwork yourself too badly.

First things first, twins! Aww! I hope one of them is Shikadai, he's one of the few kids from Boruto that I'm actually happy exists. Next, glad Itachi has found someone; one of the saddest things about Itachi in canon is that he died without getting to experience married life with a lover.

Now then, I want to ask why Minako hasn't encouraged Itachi and Sasuke to swap eyes to prevent blindness. In theory it should work wonders. I'd imagine Sasuke has seen enough horror and had enough close calls to still have awakened his Mangekyou and with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan it would be pretty easy for Itachi and Sasuke to kill Orochimaru's main body.

Hell even if the swap meant the loss of the Mangekyou they'd both have fully matured regular Sharingan still available to them with the added bonus of no more risk of blindness meaning longer regular use of the standard Sharingan benefits. It may have felt like too much of a cop-out for it to be that simple, but a group of medics as talented as Tsunade, Minako, Ino, Sakura, and Tenten (I'm assuming the last of those followed through with her once mentioned desire to hone some medical ninjutsu skills); would be able to put their skills together to make sure the swap of eyes was a total success, and you laid the groundwork for it to happen without feeling like a cop-out throughout the story so I as a reader would feel like it's just a convenient bit of natural progression of the situation of dealing with the backlash of overuse of the Sharingan. A lot of people fail to remember that it's not just the Mangekyou that can cause blindness in the long run, but the standard Sharingan as well.

It would then just become a matter of eliminating whoever he might have as a backup vessel via their curse mark (I.E several of his canon experiments who haven't made appearances in the story yet) and raiding/destroying his hideouts which Konoha should be regularly sending teams out to locate anyway given the threat level he poses ever since the invasion back during the Chunin Exams where he killed the the Third Hokage.

Shikamaru really was cute about his reasons for the wedding date.
