This is a good take in the relationship. Not a lot have tackled the the situations wherein the couple had to interact with each other's friends or the other police officers as a couple. It may be awkward at first im sure but im glad provenza saw just how good they are for each other. after all oppisite poles attract.

This was so good! I could totally see something like this happening on the show. Provenza acts all annoyed and grumpy, but when it comes down to it, he's a big softie. I thought the part about Provenza seeing Sharon and Andy together outside of work and realizing that Sharon was more than just "the Captain" was pretty on target character wise. Provenza sometimes grumbles about them dating, but I think if he saw Sharon and Andy together outside of work like in this fic or on a double date with him and Patrice (one can only hope), then he might change his tune a little. I think it's about seeing them both in a different light. Andy's not just his idiot partner and best friend, but also, as you mentioned, a happy idiot in love, and Sharon isn't just "the Captain," but also a happy idiot in love who makes his idiot partner happy and vice versa. Great job with this story!
