| Griddlebone chapter 18 . 9/2/2016 Interesting idea of how Jason came to be the paragon of goodness that we see him being in the series. He always seems like such a powerhouse that it's easy to forget that it's entirely possible he was a victim when he was younger. I like the tie-in to his stance on protecting those who can't protect themselves; this backstory makes it that much more personal, instead of just another example of Jason being the picture of perfection. Thanks for sharing! |

I should have found the time to read these drabbles weeks ago because they are everything I have been wanting for months now, and they were here all along. Anyway. Not-quite-the-damsel-they-expected Trini is one of my favorite things in the world. We see that kind of plot all the time with Kimberly, in fanfic and in the series itself, and it's nice to see Trini get a chance to be the one overcoming the odds at center stage. |
| Griddlebone chapter 16 . 9/2/2016 You just had to hit two of my ultimate favorites right in a row, huh? I kind of love you (a lot) for this. I still remember grinning like a complete fool and then immediately flailing to a good friend the first time I rewatched this episode since watching MMPR as a kid, and seeing that hug. This is one of my go-to episodes just for that... though I really wish it had been handled more like this, in that it could have been the start of something deeper for Jason and Trini, if only a deeper exploration of their friendship (or budding romantic feelings). Alas, that wasn't meant to be... but that's why we have fanfic! |
| Griddlebone chapter 15 . 9/2/2016 This made me so happy to read. I have to admit, this is one of my all-time favorite tropes for this couple. The series left us to only imagine what happened when Jason chose to return to Angel Grove, much less what caused Zack and Trini to stay behind and how they felt about all of it. I always love seeing different authors' takes on what might have happened - and my favorite is secretly that Jason and Trini did share a night like this before they parted ways, and that they parted ways on good terms afterward (whether or not they ever saw each other again). |
