Oh my god...drowning to become a mermaid is so freakin clever! It's so tragic. I do not know how I didn't see the foreshadowing in saying 'Natsu could never kill her' cuz boi he gonna have to later.
The marble dropping was super cute :3 I just wish there was an easy way for them to be happy together!

OH MY GOD I'M IN LOVE

Natsu's reactions to all this and Lucy's story is fantastic as well. Just the fact that they've talked so much but never seen each other up close makes the kiss and everything else so magnified. (I've also been searching for fan art of this fic and oml its great)

This is amazingly paced, especially considering the fact that its intended to be more of a short story. I like the whole 'quarter-moon' thing and how each part is measured by that.

Omg Natsu is very salty lmao, it's cute how just sat there pouting while Lucy was urging him to tell her what he did after encountering the mermaid. Its tragic too, him being cursed to loneliness as a 'half-fish'. I found it endearing how Lucy thought about touching Natsu's scaly skin/feeling his temperature. I also appreciate Lucy's general curiosity, her being a pirate and all, so it makes sense.

AHHH I really liked the ending line :)

I read this story a few months ago. I was in the search of some angsty fics/one-shots, so when I came across this...OH BOY. I was staying up way too late cuz I didn't want to sleep, and here I am again–rereading it way too late when I should be sleeping!

I just love this little adventure so much! I've read a quite a few one-shots and fics (all of which I have a specific taste in searching for them) and this one is one of the most distinct by far! Your pirate-mermaid theme for one, is very cool, especially since usually its Lucy the mermaid and Natsu the pirate rather than vice versa. In this one, I LOVE Natsu as a cursing mermaid (his dialogue is fantastic, everything he says makes me smile) and Lucy as a cunning pirate. I just love it so much!
