I don’t normally say this but I feel like something has to be said about the quality of this fic in relation to the amount of attention its received. I’m honestly astounded by the writing of it. It’s been years since my initial read but... it’s still as striking as the first time I read it. It’s deceptively simple and its not something you’d expect to come out of production from the Love Live series, though that is what fanfiction is for isn’t it? Unleash you imagination. It’s never applied more wonderfully than now. There are times when I find myself incredibly grateful for fanfiction. Sometimes they can be better than books. I find myself drifting back to this constantly, surprisingly. It’s very melancholic I feel like. It’s strange. There’s so much depth to it, so much to think about and I find myself relating to the characters more than I’d like. Huh. Reading this was like that moment in LL! in the first season when Umi bitch-slapped Honoka. Completely unexpected but wholly received.

It’s been a few years but I felt like commenting again in order to rectify the shitty two sentences that I posted lmfao. This deserved more than a measly two sentence review. It really is amazing to read though, I fucking love this story.

This is my review for all 3 chapters since I'm late to this brilliant story.

This is amazing. The focus and importance of expression, tone, and feelings; all done and woven so well, so perfectly together.

I adore, I love, I respect that you're able to show/pull out the core of each of them. Honoka, Umi, Kotori. They each all have issues they face with, and how they think, how they get about life...

This is inclusive, the chapters all include all of Muse. Not one is left out, and rightfully so. Nico, Maki, Eli, Rin, Hanayo, Nozomi, Yukiho. They all are close friends to Honoka, Umi and Kotori alike. And just...I love how you managed to write that every little interaction had an impact of sorts, and is shown nearing the end, how those words spoken affected Honoka, Umi or Kotori.

I felt for Honoka; what is the world thinking? My friends thinking. Who am I? What am I worth?. I feared for Umi; I'm selfish. I'm hurting Honoka. All I wanted was to help Honoka. Protect her. Be by her side. Am i wrong? I'm wrong. And I felt the same feeling of being small, little, close to being left behind, and loneliness for Kotori; simply, don't leave me.

And similarly to others, I actually forgot about Kotori and Umi seeing each other.

As people have already mentioned too, and is the truth. Honoka met with her future self. Those unmistakable blue eyes, orange hair, and abrupt forgetfulness (for her mic) is just like Honoka. But with the wisdom she gained from experiences her young self accumulated, she manages to somewhat give advice to herself. Heh. v

Anyways, really enjoyed this strong, impactful, lovely 3 chapters of the second years. Thank you!

this story is beautiful. Like really really beautiful. the first two chapters being intertwined in the same time works very well, and then i think kotori's story is a wonderful way to finish off this work.

I love that Honoka is aro/ace in this world and has real troubles that i can relate to. You really really caught the essence of each character in this work and deepened it in ways that the original anime/manga couldn't quite do. I think the best part of this whole story is that it feels so true to the original work. Yes, you took a little bit of creative license with the characters, but it works so well and feels so plausible that I really didn't mind at all. I think this is a beautiful piece of writing, overall. Keep up the good work :)

I would like to thank you for writing this story :') I've always wondered about Honoka and Umi's relationship as in what exactly Honoka felt about Umi always getting angry at her and stuffs 'cause I always believe that there is more to Honoka's character and to justify me liking to see the happy-go-lucky anime character suffer in fan fiction for no reason... ANYWAY! this is beautiful and Kotori's side of story just make it even more complete. Look forward to see more of your writing! :D

This was a really good way to round out this these insights into the second years. Kotori, to me, has always been one of the harder love live charecters to properly charecterize, and I think you showed why really well. She aways seemed to be just a bunch of contradictions and insecurities all rolled into one charecter.

In the show her main development seems to be that she starts to become more confident in herself, which is what lead to the creation of Minalinsky. Yet at the same time, even toward the end of the show, she still seemed incapable of becoming independent from her reliance on both Umi and Honoka's friendship. I felt like you captured this really well and overall I really enjoyed your takes on all three of the second years, and I look forward to all of your future Love Live writtings.

Damn why did i think this story didn't need a third chapter. This was incredible and reminded me that i love kotori and why the second years are my fav in muse. (wonder if aqours will continue that trend)

You were right i do believe you the second years have a lot of issues within them and im glad this fic explored on that a bit.

i watched the ll movie 3 month ago (im still emo over it. damn you bokuhikari) and yeah fandom consensus is that the woman was future honoka. Others say it was a figment of Honoka's imagination but the future thing makes more sense (?). Honk can apparently control the weather and sing while avoiding cars so traveling back in time since plausible tbh.

You are now one my most favourite authors in this series. Actually finishing a project is a plus. Well, you could still continue and tell Eli's side of the story and why she chose Honoka, out of all people, as the StuCo president. Just saying.

As for the story, good take on Kotori. There are still things you could possibly put into consideration for Kotori, though. The Yes-man factor was taken into account but she still didn't say no. What a shame. I was expecting her to say no to Honoka by the end, but it turned out Kotori's trouble is that she misses her best friends, and isn't brave enough to vocal it. The scene where she ran away from Nico was hilarious tho.
