not a fan yet if I don't enjoy the next chapter I'm in following sorry if it sounds harsh just being honest

Fucking hell this story is really tearing apart preconceptions about HTTYD. Looking forward to the next chapter. What kind of things can we expect?

I haven't read HTTYD fanfiction in forever so when I looked at ffnet to see an update here, I was so excited! I will never get over how much your writing makes me feel. It often leaves me speechless when I try to tell someone, so frustrated I become that I love it. I still hate you, but I also still love you! I hope all works out for you and your muse in the future, because I would love some more when the words come to you.

Wow. This might actually be the most depressing thing I've ever read. Uh...excellent writing, but...wow.

Ok, at times, i was laughing, and at others, i was feeling really sorry for both of them, looks like he started to come back into his own for a second at the end there, but, guess not :)

Brilliant chapter my friend. loved the evolution and the way Astrid has her personal revelation in the cove. her self analysis was very well handled and how it marks a nice turning point.

And has someone been watching a bit of Elfin-Lied? I really liked the reference there as it plays very well into what is going on.

Can't wait to see how the next chapter moves things along. Well done!

sorry, i would login if i could, but i just wanted to say that this is one of the best alternate ending's that ive ever read, and I'm not exaggerating.

I must admit, I'm not surprised by Astrid's lack of care revolving around Hiccup's unfortunate case. I was a little disappointed by her attitude, but I suppose that's to be expected, due to her (present) nature. I do hope the next chapter will be as "fun" as you perceived. I'm actually quite interested in the mentality of Hiccup now that he has been reduced to what he is now. Speaking of which, I am very surprised with Stoick being so accepting of his son even though this has happened. I suppose, again, that it makes sense that he wants to protect his child. Stoick is a lot better person than I expected him to be in this story. Lastly, the writing is superb. I love the eloquence and how the sentences move so smoothly throughout it all. I haven't written for a while, and it shows, confound it. Anywho, I do hope that you update quickly, as I am very excited to see what you will come up with next.

Just read the whole thing since you posted chapter 5 (as i hadn't read this fic before), so i'm guessing the last chapter was the official ending to the fic? Well...Vikings don't handle PTSD well it seems.

Astrid really should have known better :P As for this chapter, interesting, so he's basically mentally regressed to an infant now, yeah, she'll be pulling her braids out by the end of the day. :P
