I love this one. Nice to see the Ayala character making an appearance more prominently than he did in canon. I always thought that Paramount could have done more with quite a few of the peripheral characters. Particularly the ex-Maquis.

Ayala's frustration is every viewers frustration. I liked that you had a more violent side to this fic. I think it's often forgotten how treacherous a Starfleet life would actually be.

I liked when Ayala said "you two deserve each other". Nothing truer had ever been said. Good story.

Holy crap, I thought you actually killed Janeway for a second! Anyway, another excellent story. I really like how sassy Ayala is in your stories. You've given him a million times more character development than he ever got on the show, and I love it. And of course, you write the other characters very well, too.
