Okay, these past couple chapters have been really good! Getting to see the build up of Leila and Steve learning to be partners? And how to really work together, and trust each other? The hints of Leila's backstory? I love all of it. Plus, the whole mystery of what's going on with Harker, and figuring out why he's doing all this has me interested. Looking forward to the next chapter!

idk if this was intentional but “out of the shadows and onto the ledge” is such a good line and i like how it parallels their future adventures with hydra... while hydra steps out of the shadows into the light that push sends leila and steve to the edge

i remember this chapter being powerful but rereading it feels like a sock to the gut. i enjoy how purposeful you are with the parts of the story you choose to tell—skipping over the actual instance of coulson’s death to focus on the aftermath is a very serious and impactful choice and i think it allows us to bathe in the grief with leila a bit more.

and then of course her reaction to it all is so Metal. “that leila died but her own hand, and she did it for a reason.” i can’t explain how much this feels like a slap. “composed. unaffected. this is who she is” literally broke my heart

leila and steves conversation at the end. leila insisting that bc she did her job she must be okay. girl i love u but please... accept help

i got really lost in this chapter and highkey forgot to liveread but i again live for the way you describe leila and her being drawn to loki’s powers. “two genetic elements sloppily stitched together by a high school home ec student” especially stood out. you do such a good job describing her feelings with her powers and the state she was in—i felt like i was watching a movie. it’s written so smoothly and authentically

the way u foreshadow leila’s backstory is incredible as per usual, especially the way tony makes her anxious and then is ambiguously (?) reassuring, and her snarking back.
