Hi everyone! I came here four years ago to read fanfiction about a new show I was interested in. This show was Sofia the First on Disney Junior which is aimed at preschoolers and their families.

About a year ago, I have noticed that there has been ship between a child and a grown man from this show. These are some very popular characters-Sofia and Cedric. Tumblr users have posted drawings of these two which are age inappropriate Also, on Tumblr and on there has been fan stories written about these two which are age inappropriate because they are putting Sofia and Cedric in a sexual relationship.

There are many young users on Tumblr and this is sick and wrong for them to see. When young users get on Tumblr and they see this, what kind of message do you think it sends? A wrong one. This will lead them to getting ideas that this is okay to do. This will corrupt young minds to do illegal things. Is this the kind of message we want to send to young people? No, I don’t think so. The same thing goes for . Do we want kids to see this type of stories? No!

When I come on Tumblr, I want it to be a safe space to post and discuss. I do not feel safe on Tumblr anymore. I do not want to see pictures of these two shipped or read fan stories where they are in a relationship. This is a preschool show. As adults we can enjoy this show, but not to the point where we are shipping characters in a sexual relationship with a wide age gap.

I have seen fan stories where they age Sofia up so she is 18 so she is a legal adult. Even so, it’s not right to do this. What kind of message are we sending to kids? They would think it would be okay to date a 30 year old when they are 18 and without looking at the consequences. But it is fan fiction one might argue and we can do what we want with the characters. Whether it is fan stories or real life shipping an underage girl and a grown man is wrong and illegal. They don’t think about the harmful, phonological affects Sofia would go through being with Cedric when she would turn 18 and he would almost be in his 50’s! Age of consent or not you don’t do that it’s wrong, gross.

I'm so addicted to your Cedfia stories! (Could you tell by my recent assaulting of the review section?) I can't wait to try my hand at one of my own, but yours satiated the burn in the meantime. Your writing reminds me of so many types of story telling I'm in love with- Naomi Novik, Sarah J. Maas, even a little bit of Phantom of the Opera in your "Infactuation" story. Ugh, I could keep going. You're excellent. Like another one of your reviewers, my kids watch the show all the time, but Cedric and Sofia's chemistry just caught my attention. I'm late to the party.
