Reviews for Intro to Banshees
hatebelow chapter 14 . 3/3/2019
This story is incredible. You picked the very best details from cannon and turned them into the story we all deserved. Lydia and stile’s relationship is absolutely perfect. I feel like stiles would be the most attentive lover to Lydia since he’s spent so much time knowing and seeing her. It only makes sense that the tether is what keeps her there. Just grade A fic.

Oh gosh . I love it. Great plot, love all the witty comments from Stiles, you really did a good job to get all the characters. A banshee sex thing was hilarious, all Stiles did for Lydia was endearing, seriously I can make a long list how I love this story.
Definitely a heart warming story of Stydia while waiting the mid season finale of Teen Wolf.

God damn this was great. The dynamic of the pack was spot-on, the plot was the perfect mix of suspense and simplicity, the pacing was great, and all of the relationships felt extremely genuine - especially Stiles & Lydia. I'll admit, the ending was a *bit* iffy for me, but overall I feel like all the previous things made up for it. Great job!

i loved this story so much, honestly. i found myself checking daily for updates and rereading the story numerous times just because i loved the concept and the plot. Stiles' and Lydia's relationship built beautifully. speechless. sad to see it end, but i'm excited for new material from you!

Sigh. All good things must come to an end. This was amazing. The chapter as well as the story as a whole. I'm glad the entire pack came together in the end, as I had missed some of them throughout, even while it was nice to focus more closely on the primary characters.

That sex scene between Stiles and Lydia - perfection. Also, HOT lol.

I was glad to see that this was a fairly long chapter once finding out it was the last because I was worried that it would feel rushed, otherwise, as it felt like there was still a ways to go before any sort of climax. It was perfect pacing, though (and I, personally, prefer long chapters over short anyway!).

I know I've said this before but I love the way you show the various interactions between the characters, the subtle and the more blatant. Also, genius stroke, having Derek paying for Malia's college; I have actually used that in one I'm currently writing. A lot of people forget that they are related and that he might feel a responsibility toward her. I plan to use that as a minor plot device (possible more thoroughly in one shot, not sure yet).

This was a great ride that I hate to see end, even as great an ending as it was! I will look forward to future TW fics from you. I hope you have some planned!

Love it! Great job as always. I'm excited to see the shenanigans that happen at Thanksgiving! And if Isaac was to somehow show up... I would not protest ;) But maybe I'm being selfish asking for more than Derek lol

Don't leave us hanging here, can't wait for more. Hope you're doing well. I'm addicted to this story, I've been reading it over and over, to try and solve something, haha. So far I haven't had any luck. I only know what you want us to know. Again I can't wait for more! Keep up the great work! Lots of love :*

Yes! Derek! So glad to see him back!
And undercover no less!

Interesting turn of events, that Derek knows what's going on. Although I did suspect it was something like that, for him to just show up out of the blue.
Although - he is an alpha again? Is his regain of alpha power going to be a part of the story or are we assuming that he achieved it somehow off screen after he left Beacon Hills?
I had to laugh at Scott's 'you're not my alpha'. Scott has kind of taken over Beacon Hills as protector and alpha, and Derek's been gone, so I can easily imagine him being reluctant to let Derek just walk in and start taking charge. I love seeing the byplay between them, though.

Interesting, about them feeling the pull of the Nemeton. I had known that supernatural beings would be drawn by it (and I plan to use that in a future story of mine) but I hadn't even considered that those who were born and raised there, even moreso, those who'd reactivated it, would feel the pull, as well. Especially Stiles, as a human, though it does makes sense that he would feel something, being one of the trio who'd help awaken it.

Malia is such a contradiction. So capable and lethal an PREDATOR while at the same time being someone who is only a year or two into having restarted her life as if from the age of 9 - having to learn to jump across her pre-teen and early teen years straight into a full blown teenager, but with the experience and education and naivete of a 9 year old little girl.

Leave it up to Stiles to be prepared for almost any emergency, supernatural or otherwise lol. And how sweet, and sad, that he was worried she wanted to keep him a secret.

I'll be honest, I really hate the whole 'Scott is dumb' thing, in general. They've done in in the show a few times and it's rampant in fanfiction, despite that he's shown his intelligence quite a few times (all the background secret plans at the end of season 5 come to mind). I like to assume that while he's not book smart (and seemingly even less than would be imagined, given that they are rarely in school in the show lol) I like to think of him as more...underestimated. And perhaps a bit too dependent on the cleverness of Stiles and Lydia's genius.

In this instance, while I know it's probably not in your plans for the story, I like to think that he has figured out this thing between Stiles and Lydia but has chosen not to let on because he's just a genuinely nice guy that feels they will mention it when they are ready.

I can't wait for the next chapter! I also really hope to see Liam and Mason (and maybe Hayden and Cory if it's in the plans!)

When I answered your last PM and mentioned waiting for the next chapter, I had not yet received the notification that this chapter was up. I'm glad I did soon after.

This chapter was PERFECTION. I love them all, but this one, I loved each an every scene as well as every nuance. The first scene with Scott and Lydia - I love that you have not made this one sided, focusing on only one of the main character's (Lydia, of course) relationships. Instead (and I think I've mentioned this before in passing), you portray the relationships she has with each person. I love Scott's and Lydia's friendship, and they have their love for Allison in common. This was a perfect friendship scene.

I really enjoyed that even while working on this mystery, this was a day in which they were all three involved, and we, as readers, got to see them function as a group of friends. Also, the mystery itself is evolving, so it doesn't feel like it's stagnant.

I'm glad to see Malia, just like I was glad to see Kira. I'm so happy that the rest of their friends/pack are still part of their lives, even with distance between them. I hadn't even THOUGHT of how Malia might or might not be coping with adulthood and all the new responsibilities she would have to learn to take care of. It's also apparent that Scott is still the Alpha of their little pack and not only feels the need to take care of them, but that they know he will.
And 'don't make me do math' was awesome. I admit I laughed out loud and I think that you got Malia's character down perfectly, just like you have the others. I loved seeing how comfortable they all were together, individually.

Nice first scene ;) Good to know that Lydia honors her debts, haha! It was well done and, frankly, pretty hot!

I had a feeling that Lydia's auditory hallucination of splashing water was another premonition (not that it takes rocket science to figure it out by now lol). You handled the segue of her getting 'lost' well, without. It was easy to visualize her simply turning a corner and 'whoops!' where is she now? Good scene and laid out almost in the same manner they might have used in the show, visually. I'm glad it didn't take the boys too long to find her, but I LOVED that Allison helped her, whether that was real or just Lydia's imagination.

Very sweet scene, the shower scene, and powerful, too. Lydia has probably been wanting to rage against what had been done to her for a long time. Peter, Eichen House..they made something that was already probably going to be difficult into something much, much harder.
I'm glad Stiles was there to share it with her, and I love that there is an equal amount of intimacy and sweetness to counter the sexy hot moments. And finally, the L word!
Halfcent chapter 10 . 9/11/2016
I've been out of town with no internet access, so I'm a bit late (but yay, it means two chapters to read instead of one). I have to say that I quite enjoyed this chapter (as I have all of them so far, but this one had the HOT factor lol).

While I am enjoying the friendship scenes between the three main characters of the show...or perhaps I should call them the three originals, as they are the only ones left (not counting the adults), I was glad to see another of the pack. It was great to see Lydia and Kira spending time together, and to see them remembering that the rest of them are still out there.
I sort of felt, in a way, that Scott's behavior was OOC when Lydia got back to the apartment. Generally Scott doesn't behave or talk like that, even when angry. However, I also felt like it COULD be easily in character if you take into account that he was fighting the effects of the full moon and trying to control his shift - something he should be well used to by now, but also easily explainable if taking into account that he was going through something emotional that was throwing him off his game.

While he was behaving differently than the norm, it was kind of a breath of fresh air to see him doing so. I love Scott's character, but at times I almost feel that they are trying to portray him as too 'boy scout'...I get that it's kind of one of the reasons he's a True Alpha, but it's nice to see that he has flaws other than his less than desirable level of intelligence (or at least that's how I feel they write him in the show).

I'm glad that the slow burn that had been igniting between Lydia and Stiles finally happened...well sort of, considering that they might have been sort of pushed into it because of what was happening to Lydia. I don't think they needed to be pushed too hard, though!

It was done well, without lots of ridiculousness, which is kind of rare in fanfiction where sex scenes or scenes of intimacy are concerned. I was pretty good, and I can't wait to see how it develops for the two of them, and if Scott realizes what's going on between them (assuming they are keeping it hushed).

LexieH07 chapter 11 . 9/5/2016
My emotions during this chapter were as follows: Happy, nervous, sad (Allison :'( ), happy, happy crying

I can't say anything I haven't said before, but if you can develop your own characters as well as you can describe your setting, plot and the relationships between characters... you could have a brilliant career as a writer.

Fantastic job!

love it love it. I can say with pure honesty that this is my favorite Stydia fanfic. it just portrays their personalities perfectly, I feel; especially that last chapter where Stiles was running and he tripped over his own feet as well as spoke nervously at a hundred miles per hour. it's awesome! keep up the good work, and I can't wait for another update :)
