A good read. I enjoyed how you focused on the brotherly moments :)

Hello,
Just wanted to leave a comment on this - I only just found this story and couldn't stop to review each chapter, just kept reading. I love how you handled the initial forging of the bond between Athos and d'Artagnan, how you showed that gradual process through a set of events that runs (mostly) parallel with the series. I'm particularly fond of the second and third installments.
If you ever think about adding more chapters to this, I'd sure love to read more of them.

Beautiful story. Your imagery was so apparent, and your image of hope. Thank you.

Another wonderful chapter and I loved the unique way you wove the hurt/comfort into this one. Also, great idea to introduce Marcheaux as the Red Guard who challenges d'Artagnan. Thanks for sharing another great installment!
Issai chapter 12 . 9/8/2016
I loved it! I loved the way you described d'Artagnan' s fight for his life.
He seemed to be so happy when he returned to his father. He seemed he needed so much to forget Constance who hurt him so much.
He distanced himself from his brothers...

I'd love to see that feom their POV!

I loved that Athos was this one to take him back though Aramis and Porthos were they also.
A brilliant connection to your previous chapters! :))

I love the incorporation of Aramis, Porthos and Athos into d'Artagnan's dream sequence.

Wow! Thank you for such a vividly depicted, heartbreaking, and in the end completely satisfying "journey"... Well done with all the characterizations, especially! Thanks!
ramblingonandon chapter 12 . 9/4/2016
This was amazing. From d'Artagnan's disbelief over his newly granted position to his acceptance of this new place in the world, it was beautiful. As always I like how you describe the scenes with just enough detail to make it come alive, the tavern full of lively musketeers and companionship and then the soothing farm in Gascony, it was wonderful to read. And what a journey! d'Artagnan went from one home to the other and most of all I loved that he understood that he had to let go and accept the coming future, that he was follow Athos into it was touching. Thank you for sharing this with us!

Ah, a lovely 'what if' and it would have been great to see more of this pairing on the show. At least there's fanfic to fill in the gaps. :-)

Beautiful. So sweet! You write Ninon in so beautiful way, so subtle and touching.
She may be the light in Athos' life...
