Wow! I logged in and 2 chapters?! You are the best! That first one was tough to get through. I am so glad Quinn has Puck to help take her mind off things. Krofsky is disgusting.

Thank you for the update. I was nervous for minute thinking Q wasn't going to make it to the recital. I hope Santana didn't take Quinn not being home or showing up on time to the recital out on Shelby. She really did try and tell Quinn to stay home.

I like that Shelby really does seem to be trying, at least it felt like it more in this update that in the others. I think restarting the craft project and getting the girls involved is a good idea and I hope she follows through with it.

Trying to be the disciplinarian was a good start, though wholly ineffective in this case as Quinn simply ignored her and left anyway. Will she try to give her some form of consequences for that?

Britney's declaration of love was sweet and I'm happy that Santana has some outside support. Needing to be strong for everyone else takes a huge toll on a person, anything that can ease that is a good thing. I so wanted those two jocks to get a beat down. I hope that Mr Shue and Sue make their lives hell.

It's not Quinn's job to make her Mom happy, and yet a part of me is glad that she's trying a little. I get that all she wants to do is forget, but the more she tries the more it will follow her every move. Trying to forget almost made her miss her little sister's show and pissed off her already stressed big sister. I love Mrs Pierce.

Thank you for updating! I love this story and I am really anxious to know what happens next. Glad Quinn made it to the school. Last thing Rachel needed right now was someone forgetting the play. Though it must have been worrying for Shelby and Santana not knowing where Quinn was,I’m glad Quinn got to go out for a few hours and distract her mind a bit about what is going on with her life. Although it isn’t good to run from your problems and she should have tried to talk with her mom,if she had stayed with Shelby she would have been lost in her thoughts all day, and her thoughts aren’t a really good place for her to be lost either. I was glad to see Shelby trying to “take the lead” (for the first time as I recall) and stop Quinn from going out. Even though she wasn’t able to stop her daughter, that was the first step for regaining the control she lost years before. Other thing I was glad about was Santana talking to Brittany. She needs someone she can talk to and vent to, and we all know tha Shelby is not that person and Quinn and Rachel can’t be that person. I’m excited for the next chapter. Keep up the good work and congrats on an amazing story.

uhoh i don't like Quinn's idea of making sure Shelby's happy. that's not her job. and also... although i understand Quinn's reaction (the running when Shelby chases after her) because she's reminded of Leroy but i think it would solve so many problems if she just spoke to Shelby or Santana. (preferably Shelby though) i think that's a general problem here: they're not really talking to each other. i'm already excited to see how Shelby Rachel and Santana are going to react to Quinn and I'm even more excited to see the punishment shelby's planned for quinn (if there'll be one). I think some sort of punishment might be a good thing to start and re-establish shelby's role of the parent.

I dont even have the words to describe how much i love this story. I love stories with glee characters as a family unit. I don’t have much hope in Shelby, but I hope she proves me wrong for Rachel and Quinn’s (and even Santana’s) sake. Hope you update soon

This updated just crushed me. I thought it was a great twist with the picture bottle wind chimes. It helps to show that Shelby does love her girls and that at one point she was at least doing her best to be a good Mother to them, before she gave up.

Quinn's night terror truly broke my heart. That poor kid is reliving her worst nightmare in her dreams with no escape. I hope someone castrates Leroy in prison and he gets several tastes of his own medicine. I can see why Quinn sees Santana as her safe place, because their Mother was pretty much useless in that department. It's good that Quinn finally cried. I suspect she'll be doing a lot more of that once therapy starts.

Shelby sees her babies distraught and destroyed on the floor, and her first instinct is to go grab a bottle of booze and drink, instead of getting down on the floor with them and trying to offer comfort? What the fuck, Shelby? Your eight your old shouldn't have to beg you not to drink! I thought Rachel wearing the Frozen nightgown was cute though.

Santana is starting to break down. I hope she doesn't back out and she tells Britney everything. There are far too many secrets in that family and it's time to shine a light on them.

Great job, as always. Writing dramatic and emotional scenes are extremely draining, so I appreciate your time, talent, and taking the time to share them with us.

This chapter was heartbreaking. Especially Shelby's realization that she heard her children being abused and brushed it off as "little girls overreacting."

ok first of all thanks for the update. second of all thanks for the freaking GREAT update.
I loved how shelby almost had a relapse but rachel could prevent it by just being there. i loved how santana finally broke down god knows she needed that and I absolutely loved the santana and shelby moment with the windthingy shelby made. im still struggling to see shelby standing to the side when her daughters are hurting and santana doing the job I hope that's gonna change soon especially in santana's mind. I mean yes sure shelby was neglectful and everything but she's trying and I feel like santana's giving her a really hard time sometimes. also I feel like santana is underestimating the way shelby lived for years. and the fact that her husband tried to kill her. they're expecting so much of her (which yes okay she's their mother and they have been through so much crap partly because she didn't do anything but jesus HER HUSBAND TRIED TO KILL HER AND ALMOST SUCCEEDED! cut her some slack i beg you)
