I love this story, please, keep writing more chapters

Cute chapter. Spenser seems like a cool friend to Jess but also seems like she likes him for a boyfriend.

Great first chapter. I wasn't expecting Liz to leave Jess with Luke right away. Did Liz go back to John?

I don't know why I never read this fic before, but I'll certainly be following it in the future! Gritty and sad without crossing the line into heavy-handed melodrama, which can be a tricky balance to strike. Good job! One thing to work on maybe is that the dates can be a bit confusing and don't always seem to line up... Like if it's 1996 in this chapter and Jess was born in 1984, he'd be twelve at most, but I thought he was 12 last chapter? And the text seemed to suggest that at least a year had gone by since then? Anyway, something to think about. But keep going please! :-)

this is honestly such a beautifully raw and compelling story. like, i don't usually read just jess-centric stuff, but this just called to me and i'm so glad i started because just. wow. i like the small details you write in, a lot of the easter eggs that actually show up on the show, especially s2. the wsp crash was scary as shit, and you wrote that scene with such a creepy aura and having jess just staring, witnessing that blows my mind.

i'm excited to see where you go with this, and i like the build-up to what will be canon in later chapters. are you planning to go into canon at all? or just stop before it gets there? cause i think it'd be kind of a beautiful poetry for him to open up to rory during their time together, but obviously, it's your story so. haha. anyways, great story so far, looking forward to the next chapter! 3

I can't believe Luke let Liz take Jess away. To this. This was her grand plan? And how horrific that he witnessed the WSP accident. I wonder how all that will affect him. More so than the lack of eating and sleeping.

Poor Jess. Coming face to face with the mother who abandoned him. Why does that crap happen. He really did move on.

Little Jess and little Rory finally meet! skipping to second grade is impressive. Was Jess a grade up on her? I don't remember. I'm thinking not, but it doesn't matter either way. Love how Luke is doing.

Was John holding Jess hostage because Liz was going to break up with him? He obviously found out something that pissed him off. I'm just grateful that Liz had enough maternal instinct to get the hell out of dodge before it was too late.
