Reviews for The Missing Word
All4Aslan chapter 1 . 8/6/2017
Interesting. The last 3 paragraphs don't quite make sense to me.
Glenstorm63 chapter 1 . 9/11/2016
I found the last few paragraphs confusing. When she whispered her name did he hear what she said? Or not? And when he says he will find it hard to propose without knowing her name, this suggests he didn't, and when she asks about heart of my heart, does she mean she is of like mind to him and wants to marry, or that her name is "heart of my heart"? And what does Caspian mean when he says "how did you know?" Shouldnt it be her that says that? And know what?

Am I being thick? Something seems out of order or oddly phrased here. I am none the wiser even when I worked through that above.

(laughs in shock)
Heart of my heart?
Talk about romantic beyond belief!
NursingSchoolGrad chapter 1 . 6/16/2016
How gentlemanly of Caspian not to ask RD her name after she says she does not like it. I had never considered this possibility before. Thank you for writing.

Ariyah chapter 1 . 3/27/2016
Haha, aww. Who knew that her lack of a name could still turn out surprisingly cute? She never struck me as someone who'd hate her name, but hey, I can live with this result. :-D

marmota-b chapter 1 . 3/6/2016
The thing I'm taking away from this is definitely the king missing his name! It's a tiny little thing that must get overlooked easily... and would have no doubt been easier for the Four, because there were four of them.
But I like the rest of it a lot, too. :-)
Tiny Teddy Bear chapter 1 . 3/5/2016
There I was, expecting some very deep and serious reason - and suddenly it's all changed, and Ramandu's daughter seems so very much more human!

(Is this inspired by personal experience? ;)

And 'I'm... wondering - wondering how to propose to you without a name.' Aw. :D

Very sweet!
Eidyllia chapter 1 . 3/5/2016
Yes, "your name is the most important thing"! I agree! I've always been very interested in names and their meanings, and I love the idea of a secret name.

And guess what? I'm working a lot on Caspian and Ramandu's daughter these days, so this vignette is very inspirational! I didn't expect she didn't like her name (whatever it may be), even if it could be a valid reason, but I absolutely adore the "Heart-of-my-heart" thing and the fact that they feel the same about it. Don't know why, but whenever I think she is nameless, I always think of that verse of the Revelation, which says: "...a white stone, with a new name written on it, known only to the person who receives it." Love this verse!

Sorry, I rambled a lot in this review, but the daughter of the star's name has always intrigued me! ;) I sometimes go with Lilliandil for simplicity, but I don't really like it to be honest, and the idea of her name being secret is kind of exciting! Moreover, I've always thought that maybe, just maybe, Caspian could have named her. Who knows? That's why I love "Heart-of-my-heart" so much, even if she is the one who first suggested it, but Caspian already felt it! Wonderful! I also love that he misses Lucy, Edmund and Eustace because they called him by his given name, not by his title, because he's not his title, after all. But the Lion knows the importance of your name!

Ok, now I'd really better stop before starting this review all over again, which I'm tempted to do! ;)

Thanks for this piece!
God bless,
Eos
Sophia the Scribe chapter 1 . 3/5/2016
Aww, cute. But you still didn't tell us her name! ;)
Blessings,
Sophia
P.S. I've been charged with passing on a "hi" from Qoheleth :)

It can't be as bad as Endeavour Morse...
