Teenage drama is hard enough as it is, adding the apocalypse on top is just overkill. *sigh* Rei is my least favorite of the group, but I still hope she pulls through this. At least Kohta seems to be watching out for her. I don't know if that will go anywhere but at least someone still cares about her well being.

Hmm, nice to see Wolf getting more of a reality check regarding the language barrier. Not to mention becoming proficient enough that he can start holding conversations, even if his wording is still shaky. Not to mention the inclusion of the kids from HotD, they may not be central figures to the story, but it's nice to see them still finding a place in the narrative.

For the coming chapters... I'm curious to see how things with the JSDF will go. Their actions/reactions will be a big indicator as to the direction the story will go. With them being such a large, organized, and armed force, their choice in how to progress could really impact things. Will they work with the civilians, or will they set up a modern-day Shogunate? And who knows, maybe the Shizuka-sensei will find Rika? :D

And the main cast appears!

Ya know, this is kinda satisfying. The way the anime ended on a cliffhanger... hell, the way the MANGA ended on cliffhanger always irritated me. I'm glad to see you giving them something akin to a proper conclusion, even if they aren't main characters in any way. I'll be looking forward to seeing how you handle them, staying at the marina or if they'll use it as a kind of home base to come back to from their adventures. Also in that vein, good on Takashi. Saeko might be psycho, but at least she's not as annoying as Rei. Not to mention the dumping him for his "best friend" thing.

Also, that was a heartwarming scene with Kat, even if you didn't go too deep into it. It would be something out of this world for a teacher to know that some of their students and a co-worker had managed to survive. Hell, anyone would be ecstatic to find that someone else they knew had managed to survive.

Why are the highschool survivors named at the end? Are they in the next few chapters, because I started reading for them & now I'm attached to Saburo, Shinji, Wolf & the others...dunno how you'd work them in, if that's your plan...
I'm quite content with this story, so far!

Not a fan of OCs, but you have written characters that are 99.99% better developed than the rest of the OCs in this miserable hellhole of a site. You're story is well written with an excellent flow. Great job.

Yeah, he's pretty much got the situation pegged. So many people think that they could survive an apocalypse no sweat, but most of us just don't have those fundamental skills anymore. Even survivalists wouldn't find it easy, as the majority of them use modern equipment in their forays. I'll be curious to see exactly how they solve their logistics issues.

Also, I'm a bit confused as to why you had the names of the canon main cast at the bottom. Is it a hint that they will be making an appearance soon?

Lastly... I just noticed how few reviews you've gotten. That's a travesty considering that this is one of the best HotD fics I've read. Here's hoping you get some more attention!
