You do such justice to these two pairings. I've always thought these two couples would be great friends together and love to read about them. There's not a lot of writings that I've found that include the two couples.

This was excellent, my dear. I love the reflective bit, so very real (as we did discuss!) and so well-described.
I think the one thing I love about the way you portray Isobel is that it's never a competition between Richard and Reginald. You never make Richard feel jealous of Reg, and Isobel is very clear and good about describing her love for them both, how one prepared her for the other, and how her life isn't over now. And it's not that it should read as unusual, but I know for a fact that it's hard to be the spouse who's there after the previous one passed away, and it's an awkward place. And every bit of Richobel you show us is them learning to make their own way, with respect for her past with Reggie, too. So kudos for that; it's beautifully pitched.

This chapter is a precious thing! Especially love mother and son, wonderful Isobel and sweet Matthew, and Reginald, too, and Isobel's mom is wonderful!

I did love the bond between Isobel and Matthew and missed it after he died, so I really like that you gave us this. I like that you weave both her current life with Richard and her flashbacks of her life before, with Reginald and her parents, into one great chapter. And I like that even though Matthew's birthday brings sadness, that she's able to focus on the happy memories and knows that Richard is there, giving her love and strength.

I loved how you explored Bel s history and how being Matthew's mom affected her. Jf forgot that after s4 but imloved how she links richard to the chain of love that was her life...simply beautiful !

My heart broke a little when you mentioned her first two pregnancies, but Matthew arrived healthy and the description of that made me so very happy.
I LOVE the way you wrote Reginald and Fiona. And the Richobel moments are brilliant.
I think the birth is describben realistic and sooo lovely.

I love this so much! I adore the friendship between Isobel and Elsie, and I love how they understand one another so well - a friendship of equals in many ways despite the difference in their social status. And then Elsie's matter-of-fact telling of CHARLES that they're going upstairs, and that there are clearly other benefits to his scruff. :) Go, Elsie!
