This made me feel a lot of things. My favorite lines: "I don't know how to be a boyfriend," "It's cold and I can't sleep and I miss you," "Thinking without thinking," and (of course) Jess' last sign-off. It's a gut punch, like a lot of things about him. As time goes on and Jess gets more in tune with himself and what he wants, the letters get longer, and that feels right to me. I also like the implication that Jess starts writing The Subsect to distract himself from writing to Rory. That seems right, too.

Omg. This story is the best I've ever read. I felt that all Jess's letter are really his thoughts, everything he wanted to say to Rory. I think they'll end up together in the end! Love this so much and you! Thanks for writing this!

Oh my gosh, my heart has been shattered into a million pieces. This was great. Nice job!

This was interesting! I like epistolary fics, and you did a good job of tracking Jess's changing mindset over the years and showing his reactions to all those significant moments between him and Rory. My favourite parts were probably the ones after he'd left Stars Hollow; I liked seeing Jess's thoughts and regrets. The last letter was really devastating, poor Jess. Nice job.

I enjoyed reading this very much, and especially love the letters that are cut off - where he can't bear to see his feelings on paper, even in a letter he knows he won't send. It's a really hard task to judge just how much Jess would 'spill' in letters: someone who's so loath to express their feelings, but also a writer (in margins, then in short novel), so when he self-censors here, it really rings true.

You've made me curious about all the letters he writes between seasons 4 and 6, when he's pulling himself up by the bootstraps.

I love this! I'm a huge Gilmore Girl fan and this one is amazing.

"You're the changing constant in my life." That line is the perfect way to describe Jess and Rory's relationship, who they are to one another. *squeals* I also sincerely love the notion of Jess writing Rory letters he never sends. It fits so seamlessly with his writerly nature and his inability to express his feelings except in written word.

In addition, I appreciated how you maintained that sense of "run around" between them from beginning-to-end, if that makes sense? "It's like we're back where we started-you kissing me and pulling back, saying it can't mean anything." There's a continuous kind of push-and-pull that goes on between them throughout the course of the series. Almost like they're engaged in a long, slow dance where other people keep attempting to separate them, yank them away, but they always find their steps in sync with one another. They come back around to the middle of the room, to each other, like boomerangs. It's quite a lovely sentiment.
