Wow! I really enjoyed this chapter!

I realize that this was a bit off the beaten track, but I love stories or plots heavy with Asami Sato, and this certainly fit the bill.

I see that not many people have reviewed this, and that is a genuine shame. It takes a lot of courage to try out something different, and quite a bit of imagination to write something from the point of view of a supporting character, any character, actually, without any real canon reference.

Everything you wrote could have happened, and probably did in the creators' headcanon, Asami is one of the greatest, most well-developed characters in any cartoon ever made (even though people say otherwise). She has this complicated past, and has endured so much loss in her life, not only her mother, but even her still living father, to the tragedy of their shared loss of Yasuko. Asami Sato has every right to hate the world, benders, her father for what was most likely more or less abandoning her for his dreams of revenge, and Korra for bringing what little bit of normalcy she had in life away from her with the alienation of affection from Mako, and the arrest of her father and a company left in shambles in the aftermath of the battle for Republic City, but she doesn't. She's a woman of integrity and honor despite all those betrayals, and miraculously still so full of love and care even though she could rightfully be bitter. That's the reason why we love her so much, at least I know she's my favorite character.

Anyway, this was fantastic, thank you for writing this; and whatever travails you are enduring in your real life, I hope you endure until they get better.
