This is lovely. Just lovely, incredible writing. Still in my Top 5 romance fics of all time. I first read this a few years ago when I was a little young teen and bored, and I could still remember how much I felt giddy over their interactions and growing affection for each other. There's specific parts in chapters that I absolutely adore.

The snark, the banter...it's still amazing. The plot is wonky at times but it works. You made a crackship believable and their chemistry in this fic is on-point, even though they didn't actually interact that much in canon (if at all, I can't exactly remember). I hope other canon pairing stories can actually inject as much finesse as you did in this one. Just truly incredible writing. Thank you.

Hello, I'd like to formally report cardiac arrest at 9:41 PM today, after falling head-over-heels for your Ino, and doctors say I might possibly never recover. Hope you've rolling in enough cash to spot the medical bills.

Of course I loved Hidan too - repartee only works when it's a two-way street - but Ino gets written as the Hot Naggy Bimbo so often, that her portrayal here was everything I've ever wanted and more. The balance of vanity and self-awareness, shallowness and depth, elegance and a potty mouth that would put drunken sailors to shame... HOW. ARE. YOU. THIS. GOOD.

I liked that the plot itself was only a loose thread holding all the UST-filled banter together. Jashin knows I love me some good plot, but when I think of all the paragraphs of verbal sparring that have been backspaced by authors ("they don't contribute to plot, okay") I die a hundred little deaths that could double as religious sacrifices. You set out to write whip-smart dialogue against the backdrop of an absurdist framing device, and it paid off magnificently.

Also, I just appreciate that a writer of your calibre is channelling all that creative mojo towards crack!ships that get little, if any, love. I'm mostly basic when it comes to ships - the shiniest dreadnoughts, the better - but this story's reached out and forcibly yanked my eyes open to all the glorious possibilities that lie in dusty, little canoes.

I'd like to wax some poetic about your prose too, but ironically do not possess the poetics to write sufficiently worshipful prose. So, I'm just gonna call myself and hope it serves as a serviceable review.
