Jesus Christ! This story fucking kills me! Is this the fate of all of humanity, to suffer the evil of Blackwood Mountain and have their lives destroyed and forgotten into shadow?

Just a quick question. If there were no wendigoes (and no flamethrower guy, see: no wendigoes) then how did Hannah and Beth die? There was nothing to force them over the cliff, nothing for them to run blindly from deeper into the woods, Beth knew where they were and where the cabin was when she found Hannah. So how did Hannah and Beth die?

Nice job of balancing the damned tragedy of Josh's descent into madness with some heart-wrenching yet satisfying Jigsaw-style deaths.

Matt's position as the silent cameraman is a nice irony. Emily and Jess being placed in the same predicament also suits their near-identical part in the prank.

Also, Emily and Jess competing over who got stuck with the most horrible death trap is just fantastic.

Overall, good idea and good execution!

Ah, that ending was strangely beautiful and fitting. I'm glad Josh showed some remorse for Sam, it was a nice touch and I loved the internal struggle you showed. This story was really great, one of my favorites. I'm sad that it's over, but it was a really great read and I think you ended it perfectly. :)

I liked this story, despite the sad ending. I was wondering if you would write Sam/Josh or Sam/Mike fanfics that have relatively happier endings?

Wonderful as always! I really loved the exchange between Jess and Emily, it's something you don't see much on here. I'm slightly dreading what might happen to Sam, but I can't wait until the next chapter!

Really enjoying this fic so far-as awful as the whole murdering thing is, I could see this actually happening if Josh were just a tiny bit more insane. I know this probably won't end well, but some small part of me is still holding out for Sam, seeing as being tied to a chair definitely ranks below 'shot in the head' and 'forced to walk across broken glass'.

Thanks for the response! I had hoped Josh would be redeemed in some remote way, and even thought he's done all this stuff I'm holding onto desperate hope. Of all the punishments Sam's is the least painful (I mean maybe Chris's is better because it is quick and easy)

Oh man this is great! I can't wait for the next chapter, I wonder who Mike will choose to save. I know what kind of story this is, but my shipper feels still want Josh to spare Sam (even though I'm bracing myself for the worst). Great job, I can't wait for part three! :)

Hey! So the one thing that I'm confused on is whether Sam was killed by the gas Josh put her under, or if she's still alive. Because there's a lot of plot in a Sam/Josh story, as well as the fact that she had nothing to do with the prank, was Beth and Hannah's best friend, looked for them after they went missing and had a crush type relationship with Josh.

This is a super interesting concept, I don't think I've read any fics where Josh has gone full blown psychopath before. While I do love Josh's non-murdering character, I'm really into this story and your writing had me on the edge of my seat because I did not expect Chris and Ash to die right away. I'm curious to see where you take this next. Nice job!
