So, I’m just going in order of the posts on that WA thread to help counteract the spammer. So, yay, another review for you!

I must admit, that I am having a bit of trouble keeping track of who is and who isn’t a vampire, werewolf, or some mix of things. Up until now, I was under the impression that both Caroline and Cassandra were vampires, not just Caroline. Either way, you definitely did pack a surprise in this chapter with Stefan. There’s also this mention of Klaus, and knowing that he will appear in the next chapter…well, I’m a little worried for Cassandra to say the least.

Interesting chapter and plot and idea

It took her quite some time to sleep with Klaus who she actually cared a lot about and was in a relationship with and then she sleeps with his brother just like that after a few hours...

The thing that really pisses me off is how she all the sudden agree with the others and say she should have listen to then and blah blah, she should be pissed at them too! Not all the sudden just go from him to them

I do like that the relationships between characters are a bit more complex than one would expect. It seems that the family dynamic for Cassandra’s family is really complicated. I like that. On the one hand, their father is a vampire-hunting jerk who cannot see the world past his black and white blinders. On the other hand, he still loves his family, and despite everything, they still love him back. Damon also brings an interesting wrinkle to the story as well. I’ll be interested to see what happens with him next.

I don’t know if this is something I missed in the first chapter, but I feel like some of the plot here is really mundane. I mean, why does the reader need to know every single thing Cassandra did during the day (deciding on cereal, that she put her phone down on the counter, etc.?). I almost feel like I’m reading a middle school essay where the teacher was a real stickler about the student having to write down every single detail and treat it like an instruction manual to teach sequencing of events. I don’t mean to say that to be mean, but that’s just the impression this whole opening sequence leaves. My question, then, is, is there a way that you can show how vital this information is? I mean, is there something important about having a very ho-hum day for her since her life is normally exciting and thrilling? Does she need a sense of normalcy now that she’s back home? I think if you can find some driving reason, you can make these details work for you rather than against you.

Things definitely get more interesting after that first part. Truthfully, I was expecting this kidnapping plot to last longer than just the chapter, but that does have me wondering what might come next for this story. It’s definitely a good misdirect to the readers to keep the plot a bit more secretive and interesting. Again, I’m fascinated by how this world just sort of accepts that vampires are a thing, so it definitely means you have to up the ante for keeping the plot interesting, and I think you’re able to do that here.

So dissapointed cass didnt bring up Damon has done more damage to the group than Klaus or that her friends have used her as a pawn.
Hope klais isnt as dumb as cannon and Cass isnt as dumb as elena
