I just realized I never reviewed this story (although I've read it two or three times). I guess that is because when I read it for the first time, it left me incredibly depressed and... anxious?

I'm very fond of fanfiction in which we get to see Felipe's more emotional side, but this was so dismal that it left a very disturbing, uncomfortable feeling behind. That is to say, I don't mean this as criticism. It's a very realistic and serious approach and fits the topic. And it's without a doubt a very intriguing approach and especially a welcome change from all the 'Victoria-finds-out-Zorro's-identity'-stories out there.

I must say, as much as I love how profound and wholehearted your exploration of Felipe's despair was, I am so glad you made Diego as... how do I even describe it? He acted as if Felipe had never left him, as if there was not a single thing for Felipe to need to worry about. He was gentle and understanding and reassuring - he was so positive, not for a moment doubting that Felipe would adjust to a normal life again, not for a moment dwelling on the unspeakable misery Felipe went through. As always, he was the perfect mentor and saviour. And the fact that Zorro 'took a break' after Felipe's departure - it so softly, so perfectly illustrated how much Felipe meant to Diego. That was very very consoling.

a wonderful story

Very good. 'Devil's Fortress' were two of my favorite episodes and I love to see a story based on them - especially such a good story!

I thought this was very well written. Felipe has always intrigued me as a one of characters from the New World/Family Channel Zorro series. I always wanted to know more about him. The only problem I have with this story is that it should have been broken down into more paragraphs. It would be easier to read from a visual standpoint. I kept losing my place.

Nice story. I used to watch NW Zorro with my younger brother Michael, who is hearing impaired, and I think he really related to Felipe. Of course he's too grown up for Zorro now, but I'm not! It's great to see something about Felipe in the first person - I especially liked how he thought he tended to over-analyise himself. It was heartbreaking how quietly he accepted his fate, but Diego came through. Please, write some more!

What a wonderful story! I've always liked the Fam version of Zorro the best and Felipe was always my favorite character. There was so much that could have been done to explore his character.

Your portrayal of Felipe's state of mind was very realistic. I could feel his frustration and understand why he would feel resigned to his fate.
