This was adorable haha
sandalaris22 chapter 3 . 8/7/2017
Oh man, this was so good. An entire bonding moment between the two of them that came from Jackie stealing his car of all things.
sandalaris22 chapter 2 . 8/7/2017
This is great. Jackie freaking out and Hyde's revenge on her, all of it is funny and entertaining. :)
jupiterhyde chapter 3 . 3/10/2017
This fanfic was a lot of fun! I love how you write Hyde and Jackie's relationship pre-their own romantic one, it's really wide and awesome :)
slowhandsclapton chapter 3 . 10/18/2016
This fanfic was a lot of fun from the beginning to the end.
Actually, I really like the playful tone it ended.
Jackie having to search for new ways to find that rush sex gives her is brilliant, especially showing her attraction to Hyde. It makes me think she totally stole his car not only for the *emotion* but also because of that attraction. Maybe she doesn't even realized it, but her dreams seems to know better than her.
This was fun. Great job!
chromeknickers chapter 3 . 9/4/2016
Lisa, this was just a really fun read. Seeing Jackie and Hyde open up to each other was awesome. We need more Jackie x Hyde as friends first fics. It makes the underlining attraction and sexual tension all the hotter. ;) I really can't say enough good things about this fic and your writing in general. You are the Zennie Queen!

Now some of my favourite lines from this chapter:

[She'd lost Steven's car. Poor and orphaned Steven, who didn't have parents to buy him a new one. The Formans, though well-intentioned, could barely afford to clothe him. So—unless his boss, that dirty old hippie, had another El Camino buried somewhere—she needed to get that car back.] - LOL to all of this, with a dash of 'aww'.

["Hey, who do you think is hotter," Michael said, gesturing to the TV, "Mr. Spacely or Mr. Cogswell?"] - It's exchanges like this that make me want to dub him #NotGayKelso.

[Ever since kissing Todd, she'd agreed to most of Michael's non-sexual requests. Watching The Jetsons was one of them, but she hated shows about space.] - I... Uh... I... I've got nothing. Lol!

[Jackie narrowed her eyes. Donna sounded just like a cheerleader, fake as hell. "Cut the crap, Pinciotti. What do you know?"] - Haha! I love this Jackie.

[“Nothing!"
"Just like you knew nothing about Michael cheating on me with Laurie?"] - Ouch, burn!

[Tears fell from her eyes, and she brought his hand to the center of her chest. Her heart pounded beneath his fingers, pushing hot chills into his skin. The sensation was terrifying. It was addictive, and the last time he'd felt anything close was on her Lincoln, during their one and only date. When they'd kissed.] - All of this: nice! Very nice.

["No, let me finish. Last night, I drove all over town with the Lincoln, searching the back alleys of Point Place—"
He stared at her through his shades. "Point Place doesn't have any back alleys, except the exit to The Hub's parking lot."] - HAHAHA!

["Tried to teach you a lesson about stealing from friends," he said, and a smile brightened her mascara-stained face. "What?"
"We're friends?"] - Awwww!

["Focus, Jackie."] - LOL!

["If by care, you mean I don't like some asshole threatening you, then yeah. I care."] - Awww!

["You're..." someone he had to forget for both their sakes, but she was embedded in him, deeper than he could extract.] - Lovely imagery here.

["Point Place's Prettiest Princess?" she said for him. "'Totally hot' with 'super hair'?"
The jig was a hundred percent up. She remembered his lame attempt at coaxing her back to sleep, and his lips relaxed into a grin. "An evil genius, man. That's what you are: completely and utterly evil."] - LOL, loved this! Jackie IS an evil genius.

["Stealing your car took longer than sixty seconds."] - HAHAHA!

[The hornets in her blood drowned. "Fine, yes," she said, stepping closer to him. But he crossed his arms over his chest, meaning his body was off-limits. Not that she should be touching it. Or wanted to touch it, but her skin tingled with the memory of him touching her—in life, in her dream—memories she had to banish from her mind.] - Loved this.

["Have you ever dreamed about sleeping with me?" The question had been parked in her head for two days. It should've stayed there, but it sped out her mouth made her her cheeks burn.] - Smooth, Jackie. Real smooth.

[Her cheeks burned hotter at his answer. He hadn't insulted her for asking, hadn't denied dreaming about her, and that grin—it intrigued her. It infuriated her, and she did her best to ignore it.] - Because his answer actual WAS smooth. Heh.

["Wanna grab a burger?" he said, and his grip moved from her fingers to her palm. It created a stronger buzz in her skin and a secret, doomed hope that he craved more of her, too.
"Sure," she said, "but who's paying?"
He quirked up an eyebrow. "Who said anything about paying?"] - Ahh, loved the ending! Perfect!
chromeknickers chapter 2 . 9/4/2016
You write Jackie so well, it's creepy - but in a good way. I love how you get to see this smart, deducing side of her coupled with her staggering ego and her ability to still get played by someone like Hyde. And I especially love how Hyde is feeling less pumped about his revenge as time goes on. He realises that something is very wrong with Jackie, and they might not be so different after all.

Best lines:

[Last night's nightmare had infested her body. She'd won Point Place's Prettiest Princess contest, and first prize was to make love to Steven Hyde.] - Wow, I like that prize! But subconscious at work here going on, hmm?

[She rubbed her arms to stop the prickling, but the corners of her mouth betrayed her. She was smiling at the memory of Steven's voice, of his lips on her neck, of his presence between her legs.] - Yep, that's your subconscious at work there, Jackie, coupled with hormones.

[But Steven … he'd kissed her last year, waking nerve endings she never knew she had. It was a frightening experience, one her heart still hadn't processed.] - Yes, I love how this explains her reaction to the first time they kissed: she hadn't processed it, and still hadn't.

[The right-most pane wasn't open enough. She always used a scratch on the frame as a marker. Opening the window to that spot let in air without freezing the room, but the pane was a half-inch below it.] - Jackie is some kinda OCD freak.

[That skeevy, pillow-loving thief wouldn't get away with his crimes.] - LOL!

["Jackie, your cheating, doofus boyfriend is never to touch my Maserati! Why did you—"] - I'm surprised Jack knows Kelso cheated on Jackie. I wouldn't think she'd tell him, or her mother, what with the whole pride thing, but maybe not. This is interesting.

["Well, good morning to you, too," Joanne said, but her cranky attitude wasn't unexpected. She was dating Bob, after all.] - Yes, Joanne is the one with the problem. Heh.

["Donna," Jackie shouted, "someone stole Steven's car!"
"Yeah, I know," Donna said and scooped cereal into her mouth. "You."] - Hehe!

["The lying-to-Jackie business. It's an expanding enterprise, man. I'm in it. Kelso and Forman are in it. Welcome to the family."] - Ugh. They're all jerks.

[His own life was a maze, possible one with no exit. Going left, going right—it didn't matter. Whichever way he went, Jackie was a part of the map.] - Insightful, and perhaps hinting at things to come. ;)
chromeknickers chapter 1 . 9/4/2016
I should have read and reviewed this months ago *is prepared to commit seppuku* but better late than never, right? Needless to say, I love your writing, and I love, love, love that you've been tackling the friendship aspect of Jackie and Hyde, which is RARELY done in this fandom. Actually, I don't think it's been done. So I am super appreciative of that because I love friends-first fics, especially ones where they start off as enemies, like this one. Clepto-Jackie is my favourite, and the way you write Hyde is just sheer perfection.

And now to comment on some of my favourite lines:

[Home for him was a temporary state, just like family … The Camino, though—it was as close to permanent as any place would get. And it was mobile, perfect for someone who needed to keep on moving.] - Very apt and very poignant, and very much describes Hyde's mobile state of mind.

[Blacking out was his parents' deal, but apparently it had become his, too.] - Sad, when you think about it, especially since he seems to be on that road in S8. Luckily he's not at that point yet.

[The only escape his stash offered was from one dead end to another.] - Again, so very apt.

[Forman glanced at the spool table, as if that counted as a thorough search. "Nope. Sorry."] - LOL! This is so Eric.

["I gotta swipe my keys back—and take somethin' of Jackie's as payback."
"Ooh, like her virginity?" Fez said.
Kelso chuckled. "I already did that."
"Barely."] - LOL and MORONS!

[Hyde rammed his fist into Fez's shoulder. "And, you—don't joke about stealing anyone's virginity, man. That ain't somethin' up for grabs."] - I miss this Hyde. Where did he go?

[Fez rubbed his arm and frowned. "Mine is. I've been begging Rhonda to steal it for months."] - Why didn't they go the Fez/Rhonda route for endgame? Whyyyy?

[Mortality 101. Today's lesson: leaving his corpse under Jackie's window.] - Lol!

[Her underestimation of him was amusing. She might as well have put up a flashing, neon sign saying, "Hyde, please break in!"] - Maybe that was her intention.

[Jackie's curtains scraped against his hair. The sensation prickled his skin, and he landed on a hard pile that collapsed beneath him. Books. Who the hell left books by a window?] - Jackie does, apparently. Me too when I was in university. Those things were all over the place.

[The room was freakin' booby-trapped.] - Lol, it probably was considering she was by herself.

["Congrats, Jackie. You've, uh … won Point Place's Prettiest Princess contest."
"I have?"] - Lol, nice recovery.

["Yeah, man. You're..." Damn it. Complimenting her was like cutting off his 'nads, but he had to lull her to dreamland."You're totally hot. Big brown eyes, adorable as hell nose, and, uh … super hair?"] - Hahah, the cute thing is that he likely means it, just hates having to admit it.

["What about my mouth?"
Crap. What he actually thought of her mouth would wake her for sure, and his fist closed around the penlight. "Your mouth's as beautiful as it is loud."] - LOL!

["Thank you, Steven."
"No problem," he said and cringed.] - I could literally see something like this happening on the show.

[He locked it with the padlock and shook his head at his compulsion—and the irony. What kind if burglar secured a house after he'd broken into it?] - A kind one? Or one concerned about Jackie's welfare.
debbiejw1961 chapter 3 . 8/5/2016
Geez. Where have I been that I missed this chapter?! It's awesome! These two are just too much! Hyde getting back at her by stealing the car back. Then she finds out and feels the need for revenge, even tho she started it! Lol. And what perfect revenge. We all know Steven would be a sucker for Jackie being in danger. Too funny! Love the final paragraphs where they leave together and he's holding her hand. Aww. I just love them so much! There's hope for them yet.
Great chapter! Is this the end?
Thanks for sharing!
Kal-El Fornia chapter 3 . 7/3/2016
While there wasn't anything explicitly romantic in this story, the connection was as strong as ever. Each of them knows that in some way their lives are better for being entangled in each other's, but it's not something that is so easily admitted, especially by two people like Jackie and Hyde.

They don't quite know or understand, but each of them craves that connection they have. Not because it's hot, or because they're friends, or because they enjoy each other's company. They enjoy that connection, because their connection is real.
Kal-El Fornia chapter 2 . 7/3/2016
Something I loved about the show was that no matter how antagonistic they were with one another (at first anyways) there is no denying that Jackie and Hyde had a strange connection with one another.

Having Hyde's car stolen from her will definitely get her off her stealing kick. I think it's interesting what Huda thought though, that people who steal like Jackie does aren't exactly happy. It's a odd mystery of life, that someone who has so much can still have something missing on the inside.
Kal-El Fornia chapter 1 . 7/3/2016
So far, great beginning to an admittedly not very long series! I think you captured the 70s characters perfectly, and I can't wait to see what you do with Jackie.
nannygirl chapter 3 . 5/21/2016
Wonderful work on this last chapter!

Fabulous first scene with Jackie and Kelso in the basement watch The Jetsons; Jackie’s mind on everything that had happened over this spring break, most especially what had happened with Hyde’s Camino. Loved the way you got inside Jackie’s head and her thoughts here were so funny and so Jackie, “Poor and orphaned Steven, who didn't have parents to buy him a new one.” And oh gosh, Kelso in this scene was well Kelso lol, asking who Jackie would rather do it with, making her choose between to old cartoon characters and thinking she’d have an answer because they’re both rich. *sigh* Oh Kelso. Did love Jackie’s thoughts about hating shows about space lol. And when Kelso tries to make a move on her Jackie reminds him she’s not ready and instead of respecting that or even arguing in a more logical way, Kelso brings up the kiss with the cheese guy in a Kelso like way—Wasting spring break and Mother Nature’s opportunity to do it and licking the roof of another guys mouth. Not much of a sweet talker is he?

Luckily Donna comes into the basement and gives Jackie and escape from Kelso, but she says she’s got bad news—uh-o. Interesting how Jackie pulled Donna into Hyde’s room, instead of going outside though I think it might’ve been more privacy…maybe. Donna’s ‘bad news’ really is bad news! Good thing it isn’t true but Jackie’s reaction is very much real and you can’t help but feel bad for her seeing her start to panic. Love how she tries to stay calm and find a way out of this, getting her dad to buy Hyde a new car, a better one was perfect Jackie! But there’s no way Jack would do so and that would mean Jackie would have to buy the car, I thought it was really nice that she would even consider doing that and taking into account how long she’d have to work at the Cheese palace. When she drops onto Hyde’s cot crying, I get the feeling maybe it wasn’t just because she was feeling overwhelmed and panicked but maybe because she knew that now she had to tell Hyde what would happen and knew that when she did he would *hate* her. But then Jackie feels something underneath her…something familiar—LOVED the way you wrote the mystery there and the it’s revealed what it was! Her pillows! LoveloveloveloveloveLOVED how Jackie then starts piecing everything together, Hyde stole her pillows he was the thief! She wants to know what Donna knows though and I loved how you wrote Donna not so convincingly trying to play it cool with the pillows saying Hyde must have bought the same ones lol—Oo nice thinking on Jackie’s part bringing up this “"Just like you knew nothing about Michael cheating on me with Laurie?" She must know how horrible Donna had felt about that. And it gets Donna to spill everything and now that Jackie knows about Hyde’s revenge, Jackie’s got her own revenge planned for him! Loved that suspenseful ending to the scene!

Magnificent next scene over at the Fotohut, loved all the wonderful details and descriptions that you put in to bring the setting to life. Especially loved Leo snoring away while Hyde was working, practically sober. Even though I’m sure Hyde enjoys the benefit of being able to have circles on the job I can definitely see him doing the job without one when things are busy and he wants to make sure the work is done. When he hears someone arrive and start shaking the walls of the hut, I really loved the little bit where he starts planning for what to do in case it’s some kind of robbery! That was such a wonderfully written part! Also couldn’t help but laugh at the outhouse comment lol But then Hyde finds out it not a burglar at the door it’s Jackie and he thinks she’s there to confess little does he knows shes there to get him to confess lol. Wow poor Jackie sounds like she was mess of tears when she got in, her makeup running and everything—think she knows how well her tears work on him! Lol LOVELOVED Hyde’s reaction to seeing her, he knows something’s wrong and stops himself from prying her fingers off of him and I especially loved this: “The sensation was terrifying. It was addictive, and the last time he'd felt anything close was on her Lincoln, during their one and only date.” And and and this part too! “Experiencing that again with her was bad. Unacceptably bad, and he yanked his hand from her.” Are they really bad or is that more of his fear of feeling these things talking? Hmm…. Oh my gosh, Jackie’s story about going out to look for the guy who stole the Camino and find him then getting threatened with a crowbar and getting the Lincoln stolen sounded terrifying! Good thing it was just a story, but my gosh you could see and feel Hyde’s guilt at thinking he was the reason she had gone through all that. ABSOLUTELY LOOOVVVEEDDD this part here SO SO much! “"Shit." He held her tighter and pressed his cheek against her temple, making sure she was still warm and breathing. "You weren't supposed to get hurt, man. Just wanted to teach you a lesson."

Then Hyde after heartedly apologizing comes clean about him taking the camino and putting it in Leo’s garage with a funny side comment from Leo lol. When Jackie asks why he did it he gives her an answer that she wasn’t expecting ‘to teach her a lesson about stealing from friends’ LOVED how what Jackie gets from that is Hyde calling them friends! Lol I did too! Lol But Hyde needs Jackie to focus not on their friendship but on their safety on Jackie’s safety Terrific line here “We've got a problem when a shack in the middle of the road is safer than where we live.” That really is a sad but powerful line. Hyde asks Jackie if her parents are home as much as she claims but he already knows the answer, and he knows the lack of security she really has…maybe because in his own way he was in her position not so long ago and with thinking someone was breaking into the Fotohut and now finding out someone had attacked Jackie, he’s greatly concerned about her safety. More awesome stuff here: “His index finger hooked one of her belt loops. He could've tugged her closer. His body begged him to, but his survival instinct kicked in, and his finger withdrew. His life was fucked up enough. He wouldn't make it worse by indulging in feelings he shouldn't have.” LOVED that and I think Jackie still being with Kelso is part of the reasons Hyde thinks these feelings are ones he shouldn’t have. Loved how happy Jackie is to have gotten Hyde to admitting to stealing her pillows and Hyde’s reaction when finding out that she was in his room again was great, loved the little bit about his upcoming birthday and thinking he’s gotta move out.

Another awesome part where Jackie asks him if he liked stealing her pillows and even explained to him the high she got from stealing. LOVED the laugh she does, I could hear it perfectly and especially loved Leo and his comment about witches and flying in the air on broomstick lol Awww I love this, “She passed the box of film to him. "You care about me." "If by care, you mean I don't like some asshole threatening you, then yeah. I care." He so does care! Again an amazing part when Hyde realized he had been fooled, Jackie’s performance had just been an act, loved Jackie gesturing at her messed up make up and asking how she did lol and when Hyde struggles for the word to describe her LOVED that part! But the icing on the cake was when Jackie finished for him saying ‘Point Place’s Prettiest Princess!’ She did remember! LOVED that! Gotta love Hyde’s line at the end of the scene, that smirk of his shows his approval I think :D

Terrific last scene there are the FotoHut, this time giving us a better look inside Jackie’s mind during this time, like thinking Hyde had bene on something and that being the reason he had hugged her. And when he asks why she’s been stealing Jackie tells him the story, the whole story, about stealing from Casey and Kelso’s dream about Donna and how upset it had made her. LOVED this part here. “The story was embarrassing, but he knew how bad Michael could be. He'd understand her motives.” Also so loved Leo in that scene waking up, fearing Jackie was talking about him and Hyde convincing him it was one of those think you’re awake dream lol Great part here: “Jackie scoffed. "So gullible." "So stoned." Her spine stiffened. "Like you?""Nope." Now she knows the hug was real! :D Loved the mention of Gone in Sixty Seconds and Jackie not getting the reference, “"Stealing your car took longer than sixty seconds." Lol Maybe Hyde should take her to see that film sometime! In the meantime he explains the reference, so that Jackie won’t go. He wants to hear the rest of the story but he also doesn’t want her to go. So loved how as soon as Hyde says that guys have dreams about girls Jackie asks if hes had a dream about her before she can stop herself lol and his reply was sooo Hyde like! Love it!

Aww and such an incredible and so very sweet moment that followed where Jackie discovers her messy make up and tries to find somewhere to clean her face, the way Hyde notices and gets her the water and paper towels without her having to say anything was just the best! LOOOVVVEEED THAT! Also gotta love that not that her face is free of the messy make up it also means its free of any make up and yet Jackie’s not afraid about Hyde seeing her without it the way she might have been had Kelso been there; really doubt Hyde has a problem seeing her without makeup the way Kelso did. Then Jackie realizes she might own Hyde an apology for stealing his car and for getting him involved in her and Kelso’s relationship and their obnoxious kiss on Veteran’s Day. So loved how Hyde told her that he never said the kiss was obnoxious :D and he even tells her that stealing his car was pretty bada**-awww! That was really so sweet. Gotta love how he tells Jackie to try stealing another car next time like the Vista Cruiser but probably not Red’s corvette—see he’s concerned about her safety again :D Waking Leo up and hearing about his dream was

Hey Misty! Long time no read! I REALLY loved the first three chappies of this one, you always manage to capture the Jackie/Hyde UST and pining really well and also, the idea of them stealing stuff together is a really cool and original idea! Can't wait to read more! xxx
