I probably would have acted this way...unfortunately. I don't want Mabel to get hurt. But now I wouldn't banish her from the lab. Besides, if you pick out the sequins, Mabel's cupcakes are pretty good...
I'm intrigued, however, by How accurately you described a Calvaghkian Mogwai (The thing in the lab) I did bring one back from Dimension 32\# to study.

Okay, what the heck is fluff?

Listen, mate, this is a very interesting idea you have here, but I do have a few problems with it.
First off, Mabel wouldn't have the code to get into the basement. It would most likely be Dipper who could get it, but even he was locked out of the basement without Ford's permission-See "Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons." Also, the shapeshifter wasn't in the basement, it was in a separate bunker.
The next thing I'd like to point out is your punctuation. I hope you don't take this personally, but just the first paragraph reads a bit...off. Rather than saying "She pulled the tray from the oven. She set the tray down on the counter.", the whole fic would be vastly improved if you could say "She pulled the tray from the oven AND set it down on the counter."
Finally, I like the final lines of dialogue, as they read true to character, but when Mabel thinks about trying to open the shapeshifter's chamber, I'd recommend trying to put her voice and style of thinking into it- e.g, "Despite the horrors of the summer the shapeshifter had caused them, Mabel still found an irresistible attraction to the creature drawing her toward its frozen chambers. Setting her palms on the frosted glass and leaning forward to get a better look, the opaque, milky-white character looked less like a dangerous abomination in the nitrogen ice and more like a furry, tie-dyed bunny wearing a rainbow sweater. His eyes almost seemed to beg Mabel for help, and she pulled back, eyes flickering to the science-y buttons and mechanisms in the Control room. Surely, her Great-Uncle wouldn't mind helping her with one of his own specimens."

Aw, this was such a cute story.

Man, that was so harsh, yet relieving. I'm thankful it isn't canon, because I grew progressively angry with Ford while reading this. Good job!

This is a really a great and wonderful story...it brought a tear to my eye :*) Fantastic job! Can't wait to see more of your stories in the future.

I consider Soos part of the family too! :D I was checking all day yesterday to see if this was updated (I sound like a loser lmao) and this did not disappoint! My son Dip Dop, helping out his sister. *wipes away tears* I loved his role in here and how he got Ford to realize he was a bit harsh. When Ford told Mabel how he was scared that she could've been killed, and just the hugs and I think I've died from all this fluff. Seeing Mabel upset like this really broke my heart, and her comments about why Ford doesn't like her made me this had a happy ending so I'm very happy! I love Mabel and Ford fluff. You should write more!
