maramel chapter 8 . 6/7 OH GOD I was rereading all the shit I used to follow on and found this. It’s like several years now and I doubt we’ll ever know what’s gonna happen. I don’t blame the author, sometimes we just fall out of a fandom. I’m personally not into the Tokyo Ghoul fandom, and I ain’t a fan of the canon pairing at all. I’m just gonna treat this masterpiece as canon. UwU thank you author! Went through a hell of a nostalgia trip. |
Guest chapter 15 . 3/8 I always come back to read this series once in a while, even with Tokyo ghoul finished and my interest in the series pretty low, I consider this one of the best stories I have read from the fandom. I think you made a truly unique character who has her own storyline that fits perfectly with what has gone on canon wise. I kind of view her like an observer or bystander, witnessing all that he has gone through and unable to help, and in the end she got hurt. It got really tragic (ha), but I’m hoping should you ever return they will get a fitting ending, if that day ever comes, but I thank you for producing such a gem and look forward to anything else you produce in the future. |
zsdjk chapter 15 . 12/18/2019 now when I finished the first book I was delighted to find out there was second! You are an amazing writer thanks for all your hard work! I really love this series |
yannasunflower chapter 1 . 11/3/2019 I love this story so much. I remember reading Antonym years ago, and when this came out being so hungry for it. I just re-read both for probably the second time and I devoured it all in a day. I know you've been gone for a long time, on hiatus, but I hope you return one day to finish Ken and Eika's stories. There's so much I want to know about them, about their relationship. There's so much more of your writing I want to read. Thank you for writing, and thank you for creating these stories. (PS: also a huge fan of Thus Spoke Zarathustra - first work I ever read by you and one of my all time favorite fanfictions) |
How's it going chapter 1 . 10/1/2019 Hey, Tiny Octopus. I discovered Antonym earlier this year and was hooked with the story. When I realised you had a sequel, I was immensely pleased. I am totally immersed in your writing and the world you've developed based on Tokyo Ghoul. I am very invested in your story, so much so that I have been checking your profile every month hoping the sequel has come out. I mean, with that cliffhanger, you can't help but just wonder what's next, what will develop between the characters and the plot. Also, it really helps that you have a very good command of the English language and the Tokyo Ghoul lore to be able to write a sensible and interesting story. This is my first time ever, and probably the only time I'm leaving a review as I'm not one to really do that. But I'm doing it now to tell you how much I appreciate your work and how much I am anticipating your next one. You are one of the rare authors who actually has a complete story and doesn't leave halfway. I, and many others are sincerely waiting and hoping you would continue this story to its end. I hope you have not given up on writing. You have an amazing skill that can be harnessed to create wonderful tales. Much love and appreciation for you and your work. |

puppetonastring chapter 15 . 1/16/2019 this story was amazing! your imagery and symbolism and the literary allusion that are used to frame the plot makes the story so beautiful - i can’t wait to see what you have next in store for this! |

Guest97 chapter 15 . 8/22/2018 Thank you so much and a relief to hear that there is another one. Love it and hope to see the third series :))) |
KorolevaRezni chapter 15 . 8/9/2018 To be perfectly honest, I read this sequel believing that I'd be content with the closure of its ending. But to say I was relieved when you said you'd be writing a third part of this series is a massive understatement. The moment the events of this chapter started to line up for me in my realization of her potentially seeing Ken as Haise, I thought I was going to scream - knowing that this was your last chapter, of course. Thus, I have to say that I am very excited - and honestly quite impatient - to get to see how you further develop their story together. I do hope to see a notification from you soon, featuring a title of a work that has some literary meaning to it. I was especially pleased with the progression of Postscript for many reasons, one of which is the heartbreaking aspect of it all. It really was the epitome of a bittersweet love story. Maybe a little more bitter at times, but wonderful nonetheless. There were many things that happened in this story that I hadn't expected to happen - or perhaps they were things that I was hoping wouldn't happen. In the sense that I was dreading seeing Eika and Ken pulled apart, not at all in the sense that I didn't like the direction to decided to go in. Every plot twist, every struggled was very well placed within your plot. I also greatly appreciated the continuous motif surrounding the Noh mask and the play whose name escapes me at the moment. I loved the epiphany that the tranquility felt and accomplished the imagined character was built on lies and deception and for that reason the real one is the one who remains. It really helped elaborate on Eika's situation and reflected who she was and why she was that way without having to explicitly explain it to the readers. Once again, I'm speechless - believe it or not, in light of this lengthy review - at the story you were able to provide :). Again, I hope to read the third, and final, book of this trilogy. I wish you the best! |
KorolevaRezni chapter 2 . 8/8/2018 This has got to be one of my favorite chapters that I've ever read. Among all genres, all characters, and all categories, this is definitely one of my favorites. Everything that happens suddenly, like Ken appearing in front of her and Ken choking her, really does happen out of nowhere. Usually moments like these are written just describing it to be a sudden or surprising action, but I don't believe I have ever been immersed in the content of a story enough to feel that jolt of surprise that the characters themselves would feel. Which is another thing that makes this chapter so amazing. I was able to reallt put myself into the emotions and perspectives of both Eika and Ken. Of course, not to mention the part in the beginning which I thought was very cute - for lack of a better word - when the reader was made aware of just how closely he was watching her (the bit about her looking for him, looking at the camera lens, and staying thirty minutes later to try to spot him).Additionally, another highlight of this chapter was the way Ken's thoughts and internal struggles were narrated. It was as if the reader was experiencing all these emotions and flashbacks, only to realize that the one thing you didn't want happening was coming true. I loved the aspect you included in regards to his experience and trauma from his encounter with Yamori. It just really adds to the fact that this story is just as much about Ken as it is about Eika. |
KorolevaRezni chapter 1 . 8/8/2018 After finishing Antonym, I immediately jumped into this story. Now, fortunately for me, I didn't have to wait for Antonym's sequel to come up since it was already made at this point in time, but because of that I can say for certain that the flow of these two stories remains consistent and strong. Furthermore, you do get that sense that time has passed. I'm not particularly sure how to phrase it explicitly, but the atmosphere and mood of the story somehow includes that gap of time in which Eika hadn't seen Ken. Additionally, the way you write about Eika's memoir makes me wish it were a real book haha. I'm sure it would be a really good and relatable book if it were published here in the real world. But I guess this is what this story basically is, right? And in that sense, that's another reason why I'm having such a positive experience with this story. Honestly, reading this was just happenstance. As I had mentioned in my review for the ending of Antonym, I don't usually read this genre, especially since I'm always looking for a nice, wholesome, happy romance with a favorite character of mine. But I guess one of the reasons I really enjoy reading these stories is because it reflects the realism of a good amount of romances. Something which I believe is just as important to remember and value as all those fluffy moments in Shoujo. |
