Seeing as you posted the new story only in Feb, I realize it’s ongoing. But I still can’t WAIT to read it. My only concern is that this time I’ll have to actually WAIT when the cliffy’s come... O_O (

BUT THIS STORY. And the last story. Geez. I promised a long review so GET READY.

You don’t find too many authors today focusing on an Adventure Story with Shadow as the main character in quite this setting. In fact, I must say that the tone and feel of this story is very unique. Original. And it’s a breath of fresh air. Shadow is my favorite character (Sonic is a CLOSE second) and it’s hard to find good T/M rated stories that don’t involve romance (those are great too, but just saying) and are still WRITTEN well. By your authors notes I assume you are barely 20, close to my age. And geez must I say that you are a VERY talented writer.

The alternate characters from the dream dimension were perfect. I don’t know if you’ve ever read the Archie Comics but I’m glad that you didn’t just make Sonic a Scourge. Now Scourge is also one of my favorite characters ever but to see an anti-hero type Sonic was just cool. And his maturity and growth over the last two stories has been phenomenal. I would’ve loved to see him and Mephy make up or at least talk/yell/angrily sign to each other about their misunderstandings from the past (I quickly grew to love Mephy, you did a great job characterizing someone who’s so new to the fighting scene; and also I nearly CRIED at the flashback where Sonic’s looking for Mephy trying to apologize... I just wanna hug him.) but alas he died (or did he...?). It was depressing, but I think it was necessary for Boom’s (not my favorite nickname, not gonna lie, but I couldn’t come up with a better one so I forgave it P) development. I like that he had a dark past that made him who he was, and I liked the parallels that Rouge drew between the main character personalizites and Shadow’s underlying psyche and possible outcomes if he had chosen different paths. I would love to see Boom bond with someone (maybe the new Amy, although I kind of like her infatuation with Rogue lol) and open up a bit. Having two Shadow-like characters would be cool, but I’d just like to see one of them have some sort of bonding going on.

I loved your decision to make Amy Tails’ sister. It makes perfect sense. And her overprotective nature is perfect for him. I also liked their evolution through the two stories, Tails becoming more brave and self-sufficient as he realizes what he’s capable of. It makes me wonder if he’ll spend time with the real Tails a lot more often, or if he’ll just continue to do his own thing with Amy. In my head I pictured Amy (Rosy), TT, Sonic, and Tails living togterher. But now Sonic and Tails don’t have a house so...lol poor Tails. Anyways I’m also glad that you didn’t make the alternates exactly like their counterparts, as they haven’t been through the same things. Like Rosy not being to call more than one hammer. Lol I wonder if Shadow has a secret fear and that’s why he imagined that XD I also think it was really mature of her to ask Boom for sign language lessons and really cute (in a platonic kind of way) that he agreed with no (little) trouble. I always liked him but he’s quickly moving up on my list the more “behaved” he gets. Not that I want him to turn into Sonic geez no. But to have someone to care for on a more personal level than “I don’t want anyone to get hurt so I’ll push them all away”.

Honestly, I did not expect “Rouge” to be a guy. But I loved it. He was awesome. I hope we see a lot more of him interacting with Rouge. And I totally wouldn’t mind a RougexRogue relationship, but I get the feeling that a certain Knuckles would get mad lol But I won’t lie, I actually totally expected the alternate Shadow to be a girl (since you made Rouge a boy lol). How crazy would that have been? I would have laughed trying to see Shadow control his alternate genderbent self haha as it is Penumbra (weird name, but I got used to it ) ) grew on me REALLY fast. He is literally the most adorable thing around. I wonder if baby Shadow was like that. Poor Shads... I really liked that he was also different from Shadow though. Better hearing and other senses too I think. Smelling. I REALLY liked Penumbra in the future. Great job there. I instantly loved him so much more than I already had. I am a little confused about some things tho. I get that Espio outfitted him with gloves and shoes I think...but does he have inhibitor rings? Did Shadow ever take his back? If not has SHADOW been going without his this whole time? Or because he woke up did Penumbra have his from the dream dimension and then shadow kept his from the real dimension, and there's just two sets now like the red emerald...? Maybe it was explained and I missed it, but I was confused lol

I thought it was funny how you made the Rouges like Sonic and...well ok just Jet was like Sonic but I thought Wave and Storm were funny. Mostly Wave. Too bad they had to die. Sonic would’ve liked them. Oh the zero gravity thing with Boom and Mephy. Hilarious. You did a great job describing the tracks too. It was very easy to follow.

Now for the rest of the side characters - I liked Silver (he was weird but he grew on me lol), and CB (I thought it was very fitting that he was taking care of him for some reason), oh and BLAZE. I thought it was so ADORABLE that she was a cat! I think it’s strange that Rosy (Amy) thought it was strange that she was purple, cuz I would just assume even the feral animals there are strange colors, but literally EVERY scene with Blaze was great. It was SO SAD that she got left behind... I feel really bad for Silver, owning my own (normal colored) cat I completely understand ( VC was cool too. Basically just another vector. Did he have headphones tho?

I actually REALLY liked Alternafe Cream. Cheese was kinda funny lol but Cream took the cake. All the jokes about Cream actually being badass just materialized into her and I loved it. I’m glad you made her a year older than the Cream from the original dimension. Would have been a LITTLE weird for a 6 year old to do those things lol I was sad when they died. I felt Vanilla was overreacting a bit...and she did get them killed by scolding her... / I thought it wa funny too that she was the second in command at GUN. Alternate Eggman was also interesting. I find it even more interesting that NO ONE knows except Sabo that Eggman was basically not even evil. Just a puppet like he tried to make the real eggman into.

Speaking of Sabo...I wonder why he DID do it? Espio was a GREAT choice in alternate villain. I find it strange that chameleons wouldn’t be able to detect each other when their invisible but whatever. I’m no chameleon expert P But back to Sabo, he dropped to Shadow that the humans had done something to him? I think? GUN maybe? He refused to tell Sonic but I wonder if we’ll get that backstory yet P also you did a great job making him a psychopath lol he was actually really believable and not over the top or crazy and actually made smart decisions. That was nice.

As a random side note I like that you used the OVA explanation for Metal Sonic, and I’m glad you had espio make more. It was a smart move along with being something fans always gripe about lol also Big and Froggy made me laugh. Hard. They were some of my favorite side characters. Great job.

Now the story. The STORY. Did you outline this, or did you make it up as you went along? It’s a MASTERPIECE. Complex, very complicated, but not impossible to follow. I have dreamed of making stories like this but I am nowhere near as good as you. I knew the plot the first one was going to be “dream” because of the description and that one little weird thing in the first chapter. I didn’t expect them to jump realities though, so that’s cool. And since their reality sorta actually existed, and these lives are sorta fabricated but now they’re actually real...they have to learn how to deal in the real world. It’s almost like that movie Inkheart. Almost. Sorta. If you’ve seen it you can kinda see what I’m talking about lol

This story however beat the first one to the ground and then some. Having them appear in different places was genius. I loved the pacing with when and how they found out about where they were, and I appreciated each characters response and growth to every new piece of information they received. Poor Rogue and Silver. They had it the worst. I found it hilarious that Espio found out almost last haha and Sonic declaring Boom his brother XD for all the news to hear haha poor Boom... I loved Metal Sonic (Uncle Mets lol) and how Espio manipulates him. The final battle and all their problems up to it were great, suspense-filled, and action packed. Every piece of information was critical. I’m glad you didn’t choose to kill him, at least not like that. I wouldn’t have minded if Boom or Shadow had killed him honestly, but the others would have been just...sad to see. The revengeful torturing was a bit much tho. I’m with Sonic on that one. I’m glad to see the Commander also cooperated for once and captured Sabo. Don’t need him coming back, although I get the feeling he will

My ONLY complaint is that I feel like Shadow is too vulnerable in these. He did get stabbed to death by Espio in the first one, and while I don’t actually have a problem with that, I do with how usuelsss he seems to be without an emerald. As far as we know, an emerald enhances his already natural capabilities. So he can teleport (short distances) and heal and is durable against things without one. Also turning Super makes you invulnerable. So there’s that non-canon thing lol but it’s ok. 5 super hedgies is a bit much XD it would’ve been cool to see the Tails’ and Knuckles’ turn super too actually. But another time maybe P but yeah idk. I just feel like Shadow should be better. I was mostly ok with the first story because it was basically a dream anyways, but he seemed extra easy to defeat in this one maybe not EXTRA easy but definitely easier than it should have been. Although I get that if Shadow was just perfect then there wouldn’t really BE a story lol but I still loved it either way and I am PSYCHED for the next one!

I know I just sorta rambled the whole time but hopefully you don’t hate my review XD I really did/do love your stories and can’t wait to read more! I hope you’re doing well in the real world, and just know that I am a firm believer in taking care of yourself before your fans! I won’t pressure you for more chapters, and I won’t ever leave either. Even if you don’t post for another year or more. I’ll be here waiting! So you’ve for sure got one forever fan. Good luck with everything, and happy writing!

I've reviewed this story already and I loved it, but I just had to give props to the part where the Babylon Rogues are going "teehee let's steal Sonic's shoes and make him race us!" and Boom instantly threatens to knife Jet. A great scene in a series of great scenes

Could you include Infinite or Zavok in the third story? I think they both have potential and could fit well into this series. I really like both of these stories, and seeing those two would really make my day.

P.S. I think you should wait until Forces comes out, though.
