This is so sweet and well-written. I really enjoyed it and couldn't help but smile while reading it. It's heartwarming.

But she was no longer his mother.] A powerful way to describe Ben's turn to the dark side and how much it hurt Leia. I also like how you mentioned that he was still her son, but she wasn't his mother. Even though Ben threw his old life away to become Kylo Ren, Leia still sees him as her son and has not given up hope in him.

[One morning before he left for a mission, he kissed her cheek for good luck. Leia scolded him, criticizing his recklessness, and he laughed. "I'll be fine, Mother." The comment was flung in tease, but the word solaced Leia's heart more than memories of the Alderaan sun. It was then that she realized she was already mothering Poe. He knew it; accepted it; welcomed her.] This bit definitely made me smile. So sweet, and also very in character for Leia and Poe.

[Somehow, that reckless pilot and his desert scavenger friend had unspokenly proclaimed Finn as one of their own. Watching pilot and stormtrooper greet Rey on the landing platform, the three shoving each other until Rey looped an arm around each of her friends, Leia pardoned her own negligence and made a decision. Her two strays had already chosen their littermate. She would be a poor mother if she didn't take in their brother.] Awww, so sweet! I love it! And such a beautiful way to conclude the story.

Oh my goodness, this is SO my kind of story! ️ I literally ADORE any fics with a parent figure "adopting" - emotionally or literally - their obvious "kids" whether they're truly children or parentless adults. Poe and Leia have my second favorite parent/child relationship, with Phil Coulson and Daisy Johnson being on top ;) Yes, I realize that this was written a few years ago, but it's too great not to say thank you SO much for writing this :D

Don't worry, I really doubt there will be a Poe-Leia fling in Episode VIII, not with the specter of Han's death lingering. like Mark Hamill said, fans will surround the director's home like villagers from a Frankenstein movie if they even thought about shipping Poe and Leia.

Very adorable, although I wish we'd spent more time on the trio and less on her history with animals.
