I am utterly fascinated by your characterization. Saitou is ruthless but not without compassion, while Kenshin/Battousai is a terrifyingly deranged psychopathic manchild and simultaneously the vulnerable, self-loathing youth that still held on to his decency and humanity. Saitou's conversation with him is riveting to watch at play.
I actually remember reading this story years ago and how destroyed I was when finding out it wasn't completed...but thank you so much for writing it. It's truly brilliant.

Please write more.

I really love this story. As far as fanfiction goes, it's one of my favorites, and I've read it more than once. I'd really like to know what happens next, though. So, this is Encouragement! Please continue?

I started this story ages ago but I wussed out after the intensity of the first chapter. It looked like it was going to get into too much perversion for my tastes. I decided to read a little further this time and I am glad I did. It really is a much more thoughtful look into Kenshin's mind and the basis for his self-loathing than you usually see. I think you should add a note that lets people know to read at least to chapter three or four before deciding whether to proceed. Very well written. I hope that you continue on at least until the point where Kenshin begins his path. The way you leave it with Kenshin stating "Tenchu" makes me wonder if he will ever find a sakabatou in this version. I would say he needs to find it more than ever.

I notice it has been a while since you have updated. Please oh please tell me that you haven't given up on this story. This story is so wonderful and I hope to see you continue it sometime.

You know, the whole time reading this I couldn't help but think how much your portrayal of Battousai matched Soujiro's child-like, yet insane and emotionally devoid qualities. Not that I have anything against Tenken, I rather like him :D
