I know this will probably become non-canon once the episode eight comes out, but I'm going to keep it in my favorites anyway. This is the best Force Awakens fanfic I've found, maybe even one of my favorites of Star Wars overall. I love the way Luke looks back on the way the Lars raised him, and the descriptions of his academy and the way Ben fell. Your writing is beautiful.

Oh that story hurt my heart like nothing I've read in a long time. I'm not even sure why- perhaps it was the sense of melancholy, of knowing what was coming to the new Jedi order, to Luke's students. But the entire thing was so sad, and the line "Until it didn't" was so amazing. The end was a perfect way to circle back to the present and show all of Luke's thoughts and combine despair with hope. Great emotional punch packed into a short story! Keep writing!
