Reviews for Ship of the Line: Phoenix
Difdi chapter 2 . 1/15
By Starfleet standards, not only is 12 too young, so is 16. If the 12 year olds are disqualified despite having the memories of older people, then Xander, Buffy, Cordelia and Willow would be too. Minimum age to attend Starfleet Academy is 18, and each cadet has a personally tailored curriculum that ensures they are fully mature, physically and mentally, for their species before they graduate.

For a human, that's about 24-25. For a Vulcan, it's around 50. If they set the precedent that physical age matters more than memory age, there's no way Xander could stay the captain without suspension of disbelief-breaking levels of handwaving.

This chapter is why the story stopped I think. You have people with very advance technology offering to help you out and you have Jack go OOC and do this when they haven't proven themselves a threat?

That isn't right and read as horrible wrong. It just doesn't make sense and why I think the story is dead as it is with no updates. You didn't want to rewrite it to be more realistic and less unbelievable but going ahead with it is what you probably need for the story plot. Problem there is if you keep it the large hole and forceful nature of pushing it through would potentially wreck the story.

A catch 22.

This is a really great story, I hope that even if you have given up on it you will at least put up the other chapters you said you had, I believe you were working on ch14 according to your A/N . It doesn't matter if they are beta' d or not, I just need something good to read.
Hikari Nova chapter 8 . 11/3/2017
revive and update this is REALLY interesting
Shadowpawzzz chapter 8 . 9/20/2017
I need more chapters and screw your beta lol. Also I've seen many stories that the author had more chapters but real-life happened and they didn't get published.

Cereburn chapter 1 . 8/13/2017
I like this story very much, I hope you continue it!

I have to wonder though what would a ship need 10,000 people on it for? Enterprise D had a little over 1k including civilians. I'm not sure if anyone has already done a breakdown of what those jobs were, but I looked at an Aircraft Carrier - /projects/nimitz/
According to this their is 3100-ish crew for the ship and 2800-ish for the aircraft. Everything from the captain to the bilge cleaner. I have the same mental problem with these numbers, how are there that many jobs on that ship? I found out there is an officer's position called a Naval Industrial Hygiene Officer, also Aerographers Mates and loads of other positions. Again, I don't have a proper break down, but it seems like: Executive management(Bridge Officers)-where are we pointing the ship today; Management(section leaders)-keep the main sections running; Data analysts/communications-for weather, enemy info, local conditions, press relations; Logistics- folks that keep the ship fed in food, parts and fuel, Entertainment and Education - bars, classroom trainers, movies, games, certifications; police - keeping track of the rowdies; Engineering - operations, maintenance repair and emergency repair; probably other I can't remember. Point is after looking through all that, I realize all those folks are their to support the scale of the ship's mission - to sail to anywhere in the world and support about 90 aircraft and look bad ass doing it. - In that context - again, what is Phoenix's mission that requires 10k people?
Fast Frank chapter 4 . 4/25/2017
I could nit pick and say it should have been "patent". Just wait until the teams sees Warren's antics in season 6.

marsolino chapter 8 . 8/16/2016
When I happen across stories like this ( a magic-world cross with a science-based world ) I always think how they can happen in the same universe. From the Stargateverse perspective Magic could be explained as the manipulation of energy and the PTB as Ascended Beings, but what of the various creatures, demons, hellmouths etc? If they can be explained then why aren't there hellmouths on other planets? Or is the whole Heaven/Hell a Earth-'privilege'? Anyway good story so far. I don't know much about Star Trek but everything seems in order
Umbra.Venator chapter 8 . 8/2/2016
Interesting story so far, looking forward to more :)

you have to keep this going! it's so good. I like pretty much all of it except the Xander/Buffy shipping. never really could wrap my head around that. also kind of don't see him being captain but I can get over that.

good story , fading away to bad .
Guest chapter 8 . 6/17/2016
Okay buddy, it's been four months... and seeing as how you wrote these eight, twelve hundred words per chapter, chapters in just over two months... I can only assume that you've been involved in an accident to explain how you've stopped writing anything. And no, "real life" isn't an excuse. If a mother of two, with a day job, attending night time college course classes; can write ten thousand word chapters per week, proof read similar lengthy chapters per week, and post them to TtH... per week. Then, no, anything less than family emergency, fails the "real life" excuse.

So, any plausible reason you've been skiving off?
