Been a while since I've read this, yet I remember why I believe this to be the best, most accurate, characterization of Shinya, Guren, and Yoichi. It just makes sense, you know? That Shinya would pull this stunt and Guren's reaction to it. Especially given the timeframe that this fic was first published. I'm curious to see how things will play out, whether Shinya and Mika will get along (prob not but I can dream) and if Guren would be willing to abandon the mission to rescue Shinya like the reverse in canon. I'm also quite interested in seeing what Guren's squad feel about the situation: if they care for Shinya as much as Guren. Can't wait for what comes next! Hope to hear from you and this fic soon! :)

This is...oh my gods...

This is so good, I almost wish this was cannon! Don't worry, everyone was very in-character, and Shinya's trump card of being able to control his demon to grab Guren instead of kill him was amazing! In fact, I'm surprised they didn't have him come up with it in the cannon story. It would've shown how much of a badass Shinya is as a sniper.

Of course, that sequence was more to develop Guren's character, which is also Shinya's primary role in universe, unfortunately.

What I very much enjoyed here is the fact that no one from Shinoa's squad, or even Guren's, showed an explicit desire to go back for Shinya. It further cements Shinya's line of thought that he's dispensable, which is already sad considering his background with the Hiiragi family and Mahiru and Guren during their youth. But at the same time, I'm glad that both Shinoa and Yoichi showed the most feeling towards having to leave him behind - it's very in-cannon.

I'm very interested to know how you'll write this - and I hope you do. Shinya is more emotionless than Guren, in that he can live with leaving his comrade behind. Guren can't, especially if said comrade gave himself up for his sake (and I'd imagine all the more so that it's Shinya). I'd love to see where this would be heading, and how Guren would handle the situation: would he push through with the mission, or go back for Shinya, even if not all of the Moon Demon Company would agree with him (since they don't really know him). And how would Guren's naminari status and Miharu's presence affect him in terms of Shinya?

I really do hope you continue this, it's the most amazing Shinya-centric fic on this website that I've found, and there are already so little of them. You're writing is of very good quality, I assure you, and your portrayal of these characters are spot on.

Woah, that was so intense! Everyone was so in-character, it was like reading the story verse of the anime/manga!
Things aren't looking too good for the Shinya. I wonder what would happen next. If one of the vampires will actually be able to stop him from dying of blood loss or infection.
