This was for sure interesting, loved how you brought about the creation of Joy and her origins as a former human and her being reincarnated as one of Riley's emotions, very interesting take on the character, like it.

This fanfic becomes a lot more heartwrenching, heartwarming and an overall tear jerker after watching Disney Pixar's "Coco". Since in that film, dead spirits can fade away out of existence with no one knowing where they went.

All in all, a splendid headcanon turned story that becomes a lot more complex when you consider the old phrase "You remind me of someone I used to know".

It also ties in and sets up Joy's character arc from film prominently, but furthermore ups how relatable and saddening it really is. Really produces a sublime fanfic.

Awesome head canon! This is something I never even considered, I'd thought the emotions were more like the dæmons from His Dark Materials where they materialize out of nothing alongside their humans and dissipate into nothing when humans die. But I like this idea so much better! Can't wait to see what else you have in store for this fandom!

Oh, what a lovely story. It completely answers the question "Where do emotions come from?". It's a very sweet piece, and I'd like to see it continued for the rest of Riley's emotions, and Riley herself.
