Took me awhile to get around to reading this- but fantastic job as always! It definitely feels like it could be a continuation of TP. Although, it seems like Ethan was too stoic. You've always portrayed the people around Joel as intimidated and scared. So, shouldn't those feelings be amplified if all his anger is directed at one person?
Cass87 chapter 1 . 1/3/2016
I thought. I review but I didn't. see my review Well anyway AWESOME. JUST AWESOME! :) Keep on writing. and Happy New Year! :D
Eliza Waters chapter 1 . 1/3/2016
Could you pleaseeeeeeee make a chapter about when Ellie tells Joel that she doesn't like boys. That's kind of a secret she hasnt revealed right? Besides, Ellie did say she'll tell him another time :] in Their Promise 2. Keep making my day with your stories xoxo
Cass87 chapter 1 . 12/31/2015
Incredible! Keep the one-shots going. :) I thought Joel was going to go after those boys. Can u do a one-shot about Ellie getting a dog.. :)Happy New Year! :)
Freedom Phantom chapter 1 . 12/29/2015
It was great reading about those two again. They always make me go through a variety of emotions myself. Good job writing this one and thumbs up! I'm curious as to what the next one-shot will entails for Joel and Ellie.

Happy Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too. Shalom!

That was so fucking good! I loved and enjoyed every single moment (though I accidentally dozed off while reading it yesterday because I was super exhausted). I can not believe that the person who wrote TP1 and TP2 is the same person who wrote this. Your writing improved a shit ton, dude! (I would have called you with your nickname but I don't think you'd appreciate the whole site knowing your name so I'm sticking with 'dude' in the reviews) I am so proud of you and the very impressive process you've made and, other than the whole 'Ellie drank beer before' that another reviewer already pointed out, this was very enjoyable to read

You know there was a scene you could have added where instead of Ellie remaining in the towel, Joel helps her get changed and gives her one of his flannels to wear and then he dries and brushes her hair which does a great deal in calming her and the moment he is done she immediately turns around and cuddles as close as possible to him while sitting in his lap. This way we see him also attending to her physical needs rather than just her emotional. But oh well, maybe next fic (which I hope an idea would come to you eventually cause I /love/ reading your work)

I had been really craving some Ellie and Joel fluff and you are literally the second best person to deliver (First person being Naughty dog, of course). I'm proud of you dude and thank you so much for writing such an amazing one-shot
Guest chapter 1 . 12/28/2015
another success from you. i had a strange feeling something bad would happen just like from TP2 and 3. i hate being right. and Ethan, you can go to hell with that other Ethan from the first game.
Ocelot-Wolf chapter 1 . 12/28/2015
An abridged commentary:
“Ellie’s gonna get hurt... oh, guess not.”
“What the heck? This argument is petty! I love it~!”
“Push them down the stairs! Push them down the stairs!”
*enthralled silence*
“Yeah, kick his ass, Joel!”
*enthralled silence*
“Yes, Ethan, you are in deep shit. Get dunked on."

I think that the conflict in this chapter differed greatly from that of previous chapters. In other chapters you posted, there was literal life and death on the line, but this conflict, in which Ethan said lewd things just to provoke Ellie, seems petty in the face of the apocalypse. But you know what? I like it; this conflict is a lot more relatable given the current state of the real world. And you tied it up with Ellie and Joel's PTSD wonderfully, keeping the setting of the story established and not presenting it like some kind of modern-day modern-conflict AU of sorts. And at the end-fluff. Always fluff.
Sledx chapter 1 . 12/28/2015
Ellie has actually drunk beer.. In Left Behind, at some point, Riley will give you a bottle of alcohol, saying "Watch out, that's not beer." just wanted to put that out... Whatever :)) Amazing job... Definitely the best gift I could receive for Christmas. Please give us a lot more of this one shots from time to time, they really make your story more and more perfect, if that's even possible! One thing I'd like to ask... At some point, you think you're gonna be ready to write some other story? Not linked to this one, maybe a new series that follows the event of Their Purpose... Just wanted to know, because I find that your creativity has still a lot to give to your readers! Happy holidays to you too, by the way, and Merry belated Christmas :))
