Reviews for Icecapades
wanderingswithwerewolves chapter 1 . 12/24/2017
Loved this! Thoughtful and very in character, House's gruff and embarrassed way of caring for his friend was believable and sweet to read. You got the balance of angst and fluffy friendship just right, I think. A lovely Christmas treat! Thanks for posting!

awww, I love it!
Pyewacket75 chapter 1 . 12/29/2015
I love how House takes care of Wilson and still makes it seem like hes' put out by doing so. Awesome story. Got any more planned?
Guest chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
What a delightful surprise! A second new story from you. I have been re-reading your Treatment series, continuing to marvel at how well you kept an evolving House in character while creating a (believable) whole new wonderful world and life for him.

This is only the second review I have ever written, but I am going to take the liberty of copying my first, which I wrote to In the House about a month ago. It all applies to you as well as to her.

"I just had to tell you once again what a blessed gift your stories have been-and continue to be-for me. I became a House fan at the very beginning because of my granddaughters. Their interest waned long ago, but here I am-still a fan girl at the age of 84. Of all the fan fiction that has been written, yours and Brighid's Treatment series are my all-time favorites. I still work as an editor of a magazine, and, as such, I admire your professionalism, as well as your creativity and ability to bring our beloved characters to life and add a few additional delightful ones along the way! Saying "thank you" will never adequately convey my deep appreciation for what you so unselfishly give us in the midst of your very hectic life. You are definitely on my list of "Things I Am Thankful For." I wish for you a joyful holiday season and a new year filled with abundant grace and peace."

Ezra cool, missed you
Robin chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
Two one-shots in the space of a couple of weeks-dare I hope that means you're missing the boys and are thinking of writing another longer story? This was lovely-poor Wilson falling on Christmas Eve, and House providing assistance as only House can. An eye-opening experience for Wilson too-finally realizing how it is in House's world. We should all have to walk in someone else's shoes for a bit to learn empathy. This was a good one, Brig!
kotofyr chapter 1 . 12/28/2015
Oh I feel rather spoiled by your little pretty pieces. I'm afraid that kind of thing is quite habit-forming, I can already sense the long fingers of addiction creeping towards me! Thank you for the pleasure. Quoting someone we know, It makes me smile.
MissBates chapter 1 . 12/28/2015
'Partner. James sighed silently.'
Well don't, James. You have one too. One for whom you just got a red Dalek because he might miss his old one. If that isn't love ...

An insightful study: helping isn't just about doing things for others, but also about letting them fend for themselves for as long and far as they can. And about allowing them to figure out where the boundary between the two lies, and what system of support they need in order to fend for themselves. Thanks for writing us a little Christmas story about the comforts of friendship, about finding help even without looking for it.
ViolettBlack chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
Thank you for this lovely fanfic! I would have loved to see something like this in the series on screen instead of Wilson coming to a better understanding about how it is to be House after going through a painful chemotherapy treatment. This Wilson having cancer and House having to fake his death in order to spend the remaining months together with Wilson storyline was just sad. And thinking about what will become out of House after Wilson's death makes me wanna cry. There needs to be a House M.D. movie to fix this depressing series finale and its consequences for House and Wilson. The only consolation is that TPTB didn't actually show us how Wilson and House die.
I always thought that House moved into this Baker Street 221b apartment after the infarction happened and Stacy left him because it looks customized for a single person who has trouble walking longer distances. Plus, as lawyer and doctor it must have been possible for Stacy and House to afford a larger place to live.
simply woven chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
Fantastic little holiday story. Wilson's new understanding of House's life with his disability was great: subtle but significant, and very nicely written.
hilandmum chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
Love House/Wilson stories, but this is particularly good. The shoes on the other foot, or hip or whatever, and Wilson finally gets what lengths House has to go to so he can manage.

Thanks. And Happy New Year. All the best.
OldSFfan chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
Lovely depiction of a friendship.
KNITTYWOMAN chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
So wonderful to see your gentle, perceptive depictions of House and Wilson. As someone who has fallen more than her fair share, I could completely empathize with Wilson's pain and frustration. House's concern, expressed through his grumpy demeanor, is so well done here. Lovely to see two new works from you!
KKBK2 chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
This was a great story. A lesson in empathy. There is a big difference in experiencing something and imagining something. Wilson will be a better person for it in spite of his discomfort. Sometimes life's best lessons come in unexpected ways. Thanks so much, I love your stories and hope to read more in the new year. Happy New Year!
LuciusDivius chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
Christmas is the perfect day for a deeper understanding between two friends.
