Even though I like this system(and I called the main character Kyle), I find it a bit useless and other people could dislike it. Besides, using the name gives you more variety while writing the story, saying always "him, the hero, the boy" over and over isn't the best thing you can do.

Talking about the story itself, you gave us the right amount of informations about Kyle and his beast. I like his design, by the way did you took inspiration from Jin Kazama's pants? I also like how the area is the same of the original game, at least I guess, I don't remember too much about the first swordcraft

Another thing, I suggest you to go with your plans, or people will give you so many characters that it would be hard to you to choose one of them and make sad/angry the unchosen fans.
