It seemed that personal experience was needed to spur the humans into action? Couldn't the same be said for Spock too? Earlier during his inner monologue he admitted that he probably wouldn't have agreed to treating the natives onboard Enterprise, if he hadn't experienced the conditions down on the planet first-hand. It's interesting that Spock isn't more self-aware here.

Very well-written series so far. But, I find myself repeatedly checking to see how much I have left to endure. The monotony of pain and exhaustion, fear and hunger. It's a real slog for the characters and for me. I'm really hoping there is a happy ending here, because I'm emotionally wrung out, and it may mean I need a break from your stories for a bit - no offense. As I say It's very well-written, and there are many times reading it that I think about what life must be like for people fleeing war-torn Syria. But, there's only so much a reader can take. I'm pushing on through stubbornness at this point.

Ch 15: Oh... My... God, Aaah! Oh NO! *panic*

Chap. 13: Golly geez. I think you almost brought me to tears twice with this one. Oh, I hope he is okay. Poor Chapel. She must feel so bad. I understand her asking gently what she did, I don't know if she expected him to act on it or not. She seemed surprised when Spock already gathered where she was going with her inquiry when she didn't know he had heard her and McCoy. She did not intend to probe in a way that would spur him on and so she was purposefully indiret. I think she believed he would do what he thought was most logical and stick to that. But he got desperate, and curious to dig slightly deeper incrementally and then he did not want to stop; spurred on by the invigoration of Kirk's mental blink. I think Kirk did on some level recognise him otherwise the memories would not have been such emotionally charged Spock and him moments.

Awe thats too bad, putting one man's life on the line is one thing but both men's for the sake of one, that's even harder. Poor humans. I think the injury to the Vulcan's head definitely did not help last time. Made him seem even more at risk.

Oh my Lord Jesus; I say with much seriousness. You are such a fantastic writer. I have seen some great storyline in my time in fan fiction, it's been many years now, but your writing style and content is amazing. This is so great I cannot even explain it. I adore your nurse Chapel. she makes me think of how I would be in that situation, aside from the fact that I would want to go on the food gather expeditions and my husband is in medical.

Chap five. We'll see how well this goes for them. sounds like spock is taking a hefty risk to his health. They don't have much choice but it would bite for him to be incapacitated before the big move.

Chap 2: Wow this is really good thank you. I love your focus on these three characters; it's a nice dynamic. Yes sight into that woman's experience would have been dramatically traumatised.

Once again you have handled heavy themes exceptionally well. Another fabulous and deep story. I especially loved Ndiaye and Gietz's temporary solution of beaming away all explosives from both sides. So incredibly genius, and very effective.

War and fighting really are so incredibly illogical, pointless, and horrible things. I'm glad they could stop that endless pain and suffering :) Well done :)

WOW-this was an intense story. I really liked seeing how our heroes all reacted in this crisis situation. Well Done.

I enjoyed this opportunity to see Spock and McCoy in less typical circumstances. Your descriptions were great, especially of Spock's injury and the immediate effect. Well done.
