The is still one of my favorite stories for B/T, I so glad your sticking with it. I aways Giles could've done something to help Buffy more, so not sorry the ladies are on him. If it wouldn't wig out the girls, I'd push for a Sarah/Joyce pairing as well. Keep up the great work, Awesome chapter.

Okay, just came across this story randomly after having a sudden desire to read some Buffy fanfiction, and found you've used a name for Tara's mother that I've used for a character related to Tara in my own fic ideas (which I'll never write as they make for better daydreams :P). Okay, got that out of the way, now I have to actually read the story :)

I just finished reading chapter 42 and realized that it was incomplete and hasn't been touched in a long time. I'm really disappointed because it was such a great story. Is there any chance that you will finish the story?

I can't wait for the moms vs watcher council verbal smack-down! Again I love the support Tara has from Cordy and Faith, and hate how true to life Tara's crush on Buffy is so far. Excellent couple of chapters.

We know in canon that Giles disagreed with administering the test and eventually broke protocol, leading to his dismissal. "A father's love for his charge-" was how Quentin described it. Would Joyce soften her own heart for Giles upon hearing this? With this story I think it should stick as close to canon as possible, and after the fallout and recriminations could present an opportunity for a romance between Joyce and Rupert, and Buffy finding a father figure she needs.

Damn, I hope that Sarah finds out that Giles doesn't want to do this and is being forced into doing this as we all know that Giles really does care for Buffy.

Pretty sure there are other ways to test intelligence and creativity. For that matter, why not attempt to teach the slayers how to out-think their opponents long before the farce of a ritual that sounds more like the slayers are just being sacrificed for some reason? Makes me wonder what sort of enemy exists to require that the Slayer be capable of using her head for something other than physically hitting her opponent when her limbs are otherwise occupied. Of course the whole thing could just be something the Watcher's Council cooked up at some point in the past to keep the Slayer under control and avoid the hassle of why some old man would be interacting with a woman younger than him in spite of the fact they're not related by blood or marriage. The fact supporting the Slayer and her activities happens to fall within their jurisdiction could have eventually made them think the Slayer herself was somehow subject to their control. Assuming that wasn't the case when the council was first created.
